Been my only car for ten years and 94,000 miles.

I've run winter tyres from October-March since 2010 so it gets used regardless of weather and the bodywork has only dissolved from the salt once...

Mines my daily and have done about 13k miles since I got it 14 months ago. Its hauled bikes, kayaks, furniture, wheels, camping gear and more. Basically, its a very practical daily with the folding seats and roof rack!

Hello everyone,
My car is dry weather only, no use in the winter only to give it a warm up if its dry, then it comes out again when salt spreading comes to a stop,
Car has no rust at all and I want to keep it that way.

Mine is technically my daily.. although I’ve only done 5k miles in 2.5 years of ownership.

like a lot of people I’ve been working from home for approx 20 months now, so that’s 80 miles a week I haven’t been doing in the M3.

also until recently I had a motorbike aswell which I’d tend to use to commute in the nice weather.

we also have a golf GTI as the family car which gets used more than the M3 as my Mrs is also working from home now.

so… technically M3 is my daily, as in the only car I personally own, however it’s more of a luxury/fun car in the current circumstances

Well done that’s some commitment!!

My e46 vert was my daily for 2 years but not any more it’s a fair weather car now. The odd time I do commute in it I realise how much hard work the e46 is in traffic compared to my M4. I have become to lazy I couldn’t daily drive my e46 again
they are hard work in traffic that's for sure mate

Mine used be my daily and only car for about two years. It did well, never left me stranded and made the commute fun. It was never particularly comfortable, probably due to the oem 19s and polybushes. Eventually after adding a few mods I gave up and bought a second car to daily.

Have considered retiring it, but then what? Drive a fridge? Or get an M2 - then there's not much point in keeping it.

I used to daily mine a decade ago but I haven't driven it for donkies years.

It's funny because when I used to daily it, I actually enjoyed going to and from work. Now that I have a diesel company car, I don't seem to enjoy going to work as much anymore.

Since I moved to a new house with a garage in March this year I’ve not driven it as much as I normally would have just because I can’t be ****d to get it out the garage sometimes lol also had a big knee op which stopped me driving for a good few months.
I do take it out on dry days throughout the year but avoid using it when the roads are really crappy/salty etc.
when it gets to the point I’m looking at it more than I’m driving it, that’s the day it goes up for sale

I agree with your second bit - the drive to and from work was the best part of my working day :) Since mainly working from home now I really miss that bit  I guess the upside is that my mileage hasn't gone up much over this period! I've only done about 600 miles since my new new coilovers were fitted back in March, and pretty similar the year before :(

  • thing is if I take mine out to say to go to the gym it’s only about 5 miles but that quickly turns into about 20 miles and a good thrashing :drive1:
  • Sometimes I’ve not even made it to the gym!!!
  • Don’t why this is bullet pointing this update either lol

Completely agree gives me something to look forward to otherwise I would hate Monday mornings.
