Hi guys I’m new to the m scene and
Getting my e92 serviced next month so want to book it in.
My nearest stealers are Sytner Tamworth, rybrook Wolverhampton or Sytner oldbury. Any experience with any of the above or any others not mentioned? I Don’t mind traveling further afield.
I’m very sceptical about main dealers after reading many horror stories in the past. Another option would be a specialist although there’s non I know of close by. What’s the general consensus with midland dealers or am I better off traveling to the likes of redish in Bristol?
Car needs oil, filter and vehicle check so nothing major. Might get diff oil done too for good measure if required? Also spark plugs were changed 15k ago and now on 36k so don’t think they need replacing yet?
    Thanks in advance. :)

I used sytner tamworth this week for servicing on my m2 and couldn't fault them. Dealt with a bloke called Dan. They put no wash signs on the car for me too

You're local to me! Walsall. Welcome along

I used to feel great when I had my car serviced by main dealer Sytner Birmingham. But to be honest it really depends on what technician works on your car - pot luck. Plus you're paying a premium

I would 100% recommend you pop round and speak to Noel Butler @ NCB AutoKraft - even if its just to visit his workshop and chat to him. He is an old school BMW Master Technician and does ONLY BMW's. Between myself , family and friends he's worked on E36 M3's, E46 M3's, E39 M5's, an E61 M5 and countless non M cars. What he touches never needs to be worked on again

Also its worth noting BMW tend to extract engine oil using an oil extractor instead of draining via sump. For me if i'm paying top money i'd expect them to open the sump and drain every last drop possible

Had nothing but bad experiences with Warwick and Birmingham so I'd stay away from both.

Thanks chaps very helpful! Can anyone comment on when diff oils/transmission oils should be replaced or are they lifetime fluids? Read so many different opinions it’s unreal!

Sytner Tamworth have been pretty good for me, have had 4 cars from them over the last few years and service has been pretty good actually I feel. All my carbon tat was fitted very well by them so they get a vote from me.
    cheers

Only ever use Sytner Tamworth. Always been superb with me and very helpful. Sytner Birmingham are a waste of space and Wolves wasn't too bad until my last experience with them when I had my M5. I'm from Wolves too and prefer travelling all the way over to Tamworth lol.

    Tamworth were ok for service.

Sales there are absolute pants and frankly insulting with PX figures.

Every other Sytner dealer I have dealt with has been absolute rubbish!

Systner bodyshop and service have been great and I have a good relationship with the body shop and service adviser.

The sales side I agree are wankers. Had a great relationship with the sales guys who were my old service advisors but their hands are tied as it’s the idiots who they have to run too in the back office who end up calling the shots.
