Wales Road Trip

Planning a road trip around Wales for the summer with some friends. Anyone got any suggestions must see roads / places?

If your down south, the 'Black mountains' A4069 is well worth it. most magazines and car shows test/use the road.

From there you can head up towards Llandovery/mid wales.

Also the coastal road in Aberystwyth isnt too bad, views are just stunning.

you really cant go too wrong in wales, just watch for tractors and sheep

The Evo triangle has been done to death and an average speed cameras now don't make it any fun. Also in the summer the Black Mountains will normally have a speed camera / Police about.

Some of my favs

The A4061 Bwlch-y-clawdd road from Treorchy up towards Bwlch mountain is great. Once at the top take the A4107 down to the little cluster of houses. Spin round then run it backwards.

The A4061 Rhigos Road is excellent.

The A4059 past the Penderyn distillery is also great this will drop you out near Pen y Fan

The B4560 from Langynidr to Beaufort is great you will see a corner that gets used a lot by Chris Harris and others.

For some must see places depends what you want. if its car related then Pendine sands is cool with a little museum documenting the land speed attempts made there.

Thanks very much! We’d definitely planned to do the Black mountains, but i’m not sure about Aberystwyth so i’ll see if we can squeeze it in!

I did a Wales road trip last year, mainly covering Snowdonia and squeezing in a trackday at Anglesey.
