It's been an eventful year so far in the Kumho BMW Championship.

After a busy winter upgrading the car to run in the A1 class, I managed 3rd and 2nd in the first round at Oulton Park. It wasn't a bad result given a chronically understeering car due to running overly stiff front springs and no set up time.

Castle Combe was a disaster with the welds on the front lower suspension arms failing after 8 laps of qualifying. It resulted in the wheel exploding out the front of the car and causing much damage (could have been a lot worse though).

We got the car back together for Brands last weekend but still haven't managed to sort out a proper baseline set up. Still, it was a great weekend's racing with 2 x 3rd places and a best lap of 50.110, which I was reasonably happy with but a 49 will definitely be achievable with the new front springs and some set up time. We're still no where near Garrie Whittaker who did a 48.67 on fresh rubber. To put in context, Matt Neal holds the BTCC lap race record at 48.498. Not bad for an ancient E36! Not sure we're ever going to get near that pace as we're 100Kg heavier but we keep trying...

Anyhoo, here's the video with some idiot wittering away when he should be concentrating on driving.

Will post video of the first couple of races and the exploding front wheel when I get a moment :)

    Cheers Billy! Appreciated :)

Might make it out to a Cutters track day one day this summer, work and ever diminishing racing budget willing!

Been watching your videos on Youtube, very entertaining.

I was actually watching the race live, these cars are crazy fast and they make cornering look effortless!!
