I am in the process of buying another E92, and will need to check it has the latest software, security updates etc.

Last 2 times I got a local indie to do it, is there a cheaper way I can do it? Or anyone around London who can?

Why are you buying another m3 rather than keeping the current one? I notice you mentioned you've had a couple previously too. Are you trying to find one that's good on fuel?

The first one was high mileage, 60k. Nothing special, comp pack with edc. A FSE popped up with 31K, couldn't say no, so bought that and sold the first one.

I bought a C63 recently, and shortly after I sold my FSE regrettably, got offered a price that was hard to say no. Replacing it seems a chore, and nothing decent out there unless your prepared to pay stupid money. Unfortunately I do not think 20k plus on an E92 is worth it anymore, 22k tops if its a special one with low mileage. People are still asking 21/22k for average comps with 60k, a year ago yes. Not anymore for me, I am sure this year we will see them drop a lot more. If people want to sell, they need to be realistic with pricing, unfortunately they are not, and is why they are still up for sale 6 months later.

I love the E92, Ive tried a lot of cars but the E92 for me is hard to beat.

If I buy a higher mileage normal comp pack, Ill no doubt sell when the right FSE or other edition pops up lol.

I, like many of us here have issue. Mine is changing cars, and never being satisfied.

For the security update, from memory, take the physical key out of the fob, put it in the drivers door and turn and hold it in the unlock position for a few seconds. If the window drops, it doesn't have the update. If it's not been updated, BMW will do it free of charge for you.

Any or all of the above could be complete ******** though :)

The best security for these cars is a full disclock.

You can also just turn it off with Carly, if you dont want the hassle of visiting the muppets/main dealer.
