I thought there was group of guys also taking to a UK manafacturer, possibly Milltek. I think Doughboy was one of them.

There were a few videos on YouTube of the single exhaust/equal length being tested.

+1. I'm in the minority that likes how the S55 sounds.

I'm also very happy with the sound of my CP as stock. However, I am trying to avoid watching any exhaust mod videos just in case I fancy something else :)

All attempts to make the S55 not sound shyte have failed so far.

Exhaust manufacturers need to go and speak to some Japanese exhaust manufacturers from the late 90's...

Have we a confirmed sound clip of this new exhaust?

The problem with all exhausts for the S55 is two pipes.

Hi all! Saw my name and thought I'd better sign up to reply... Im not in talks with Milltek, but another F87 forum member has his M2C booked in with them in Feb for this.

Mines in with a Local shop soon too.

LHD and RHD exhausts are the same. US version would fit straight on...

N54 had twin turbo, twin pipes and sounded great, 335i, 135i, 1M coupe etc. Just that N54 had equal length pipes...

Agreed the N series engines seem to sound pretty good. From what I've seen with the current S55 exhausts available they all just add more decibels but do nothing to improve the actual sound so fingers crossed this works out.

Doesn’t sound that special or sonorous in the YouTube videos... but fingers crossed it will sound better and you guys with S55s will be happier for it.

I don’t think it sounds much better at all. The revs are still lost sound wise. 7200rpm should be singing.

Hmmmm we’ve had this sort of thread pop up year after year for 6 years now.

The S55 sound isn’t anywhere near as bad as people make out but it’s also pointless trying to get it to sound like an E92 (which really is what started this Holy Grail mission back in 2014). CP sounds fine and an MPE or other top end aftermarket makes it sound great.

Anyway I’m off to a V8 twin turbo soon :p

Whenever I see a claim like the thread title “WILL CHANGE THE WORLD FOREVER!!”
