I take it you all know these are loaner rims from the refurb’ shop ;)
Glad I went silver, even with these there’s too much black.

Number plate plinth fitted, much neater in my eyes.

Much neater mate

Wouldn't be so bad if a plate actually sat well on the bumper! But they are quite curved laterally and vertically, so it always sits a bit awkward.

Ah man I'm too late! I just found out that BMW advised not to fit the plinth to anything more powerful that a 320d because it dramatically effects aerodynamics on more powerful cars! Doesn't matter just don't go above 40 mph will be fine :thumbsup2:

Don’t know how you lot get on with SORN motors over the winter.. Having serious withdrawal symptoms as I’ve not driven this for five days!

Mine is always sorned Nov, Dec, Jan & Feb.

I tend to save up the small jobs I want to do for winter, ordering the parts October time. Gives me plenty to do.

Currently rebuilding and powder coating all the brake calipers, carriers and backing plates. Replaced a wheel bearing. Actuators are away being rebuilt. Fixed my pollen filter housing fixings etc.

You could always polish it ;)

It was my plan to machine polish the car. I have new pads and a selection of compounds to have a go. Sadly the car lives outside and weather wise it’s been nothing but rain rain rain! I have no access to a garage..
I’ve done nothing more than stare at it through the dining room window pining like a dog waiting for its owner to come home.

I must admit that would be hard. In the garage is at least ‘out of sight out of mind’!

I’d be desperate to drive it mate, especially as the model is new to you. I imagine it’s like being 10 years old, just got a new bike for Christmas, but waiting for spring to use it. Torture!

Truth this..^^^
Hopefully I’ll be getting my refurbished wheels back tomorrow, which is the reason I’ve not used it. It’s still sitting on a set on 1 Series 18’s.. it’s all quite ghastly

I’m in exactly the same boat mate. I’ve chosen not to drive my car in these cold temps / wet weather, as it came on tyres all date stamped 2012 (verifies the low mileage at least)!

New Michelin’s arrived the other day, and they will be fitted along with a wheel refurb (actually found somewhere that can match the OEM finish via a recent thread on here which was useful).

Anyway, if that delay wasn’t painful enough, I went to remove the wheels… First lock bolt had been buzzed on so hard by some clown with an air gun, I sheared my lock key in half trying to undo it :oops2:. FFS.

Now awaiting a new locking key to be delivered before I can make any progress, all the while I’m just desperate to drive the thing…

:drive1:

If you want to feel better think about how grimey the underneath of the car would be getting if you were driving it around and also the £50 a month you're saving on tax while its hibernating :muttley:

(works for me)

Original finish pre-refurb (sellers picture), pretty close IMO.

Looks really good! What's the wheel refurbish company and what would I need to tell them if I want the same finish?

My wheels are currently black.

Thanks.
Wheelmania did them, they’re on social media. I think they said the colour was speed silver.
Original price quoted was £260 plus vat, on collection they charged me £280 all in.

Thanks, I've checked them out, seem a bit far away from me unfortunately. That's a nice price as well!
