Be good to see. However, I refute your claim that you've bought the worst E46 M3, as until you find out your rear panel is completely destroyed, then I think I still win, as mine was effectively scrap before i got it fixed, and it's still not done!

I know it's a youtube channel, so that that's the reason, but I'd not do the sub 6k M3 again, which is what I did (without knowing better admittedly) and should have really spent an extra 2-3k as it ended up costing more than that, even though I do have a rock solid back end now...

Anyway, be interesting to see what nasties you find as you go along! Kind of makes me wish I'd done that as I could write a book by now...

    Good content!

The emphasis is so far 100% on the aesthetic condition of the car rather than any assessment of the mechanical side. I'd imagine most buyers are primarily focused on the inherent issues such as rear sub-frame, rod bearings, HG, Vanos etc. Investigating and showing these in person would be more interesting.

A bit of paint flaking and a few chips on the bumper is easily spotted and not the end of the world.

Subscribed and interested but never heard on anyone you name dropped and don't see why you even needed to mention them. Make your ownsucess without slagging people off. Good luck with the channel.

Ha, I do for 1 or 2 of them, the word rod bearings and explaining how a differential works would make 2 of the biggest 'experts' on YouTube run and hide behind their marketing company :roflmao:

I Didn't slag them off and that is something I will not blatantly do (subtly yes), I am very fond of most of them... I was rather careful with my wording with the other one or two :)
But on the flip side I also don't care, I will name and shame fakers (so many) and go my own way, even if it ruins my channel, truth is truth after all. thought I doubt this will ever happen from my own doing, I am not into online drama (mid 30s soon!)

The mechanicals are coming I promise, I want it done RIGHT and so far it just isn't going to be filmed and produced in the way I want.

(not outside my house on jack stands for instance)

I want it up on the ramp with the 'guru' going through each fault in professional detail.... I promise its coming and it will be great entertainment for you.... maybe not so much for poor old me and my savings :(

Here's episode 2, really its early and was supposed to be for tonight... but anyways enjoy:

BTW the YouTube format does not work on here and I have tried EVERYTHING!

I think I'm going to enjoy your channel - though I am actively looking for an e46 I think I'll be spending a lot more - now I'm a bit older I'd rather watch it than do it :D

Waiting for the one on mechanical horrors.

When are you sending of the oil sample to tell you about imminent engine death?

I can't think of anyone more annoying but each to their own!

Anyway back to your vids, like it so far.

Couple of things to point out which I think will help in your car journey is not to rush buying parts last minute. You shot yourself in the foot with having to buy new bolts from BM and as you found aren't cheap. So take your time and research a little and check what you have on the car before you buy. Those bolts could have been had for less than half that but least its solved your wobble problem. Look forward to the next episode.:peace:

Yeah, it was a close call really, either lose 3k, or spend that getting it fixed, i took the loss as a budget to spend on fixing it, plus adding on what I would have spent to reinforce it in the first place.

Glad I did, despite that horror show, the car has come good, and I think because of it I appreciate it more. I know it has niggles because it's old, but slowly sorting them and adding to it really is rewarding.

Basically, I'm still staking my claim that I bought possibly the worst e46 M3 because of that, and that he's just a pretender ;)

...that and the rest that needed doing to hit. His rust is but a flesh wound :D

Are you doing alot of the work yourself? Nothing worse than these YouTuber's that basically drive to garages and only talk about what's taking place.

Nice to see something along the lines of Mighty Car Mods.

just had a look at instagram... wow, not good at all... personally maybe this is the time to do a manual conversion? Cheaper than a new pump, and as this is a project car, why not?

I've always said that if mine goes I'm just getting it converted.

just as an idea, there was a guy selling uprated SMG motors, so if you're replacing the pump, that might be an idea? Either that or get one off a breaker or of a low mileage car that's being converted?
