I'm not enough of an expert to answer that, but @tomwrigley performance will be able to give a much better answer than me. There's a couple of reasons he was explaining to me, but i've forgotten.. ha

Terry, I bet your insurance modification list is quite extension now.... I’m sure mine would have a meltdown if they saw it and had my trousers down again. This is what puts me off doing any other minor mods, even the new rear light clusters!

    Hahaha, you sound like me!

To be fair, Alcon are pretty decent, so imagine they would be a very nice upgrade over OEM too.

It’s quite long, but I am sure they don’t know what things are, although in fairness, they are also not too bad at putting the price up, I think it will be power increases that only really impact my premium now.

I drive like an old woman mate, on and off track, but I like it to feel right and enjoy making a car my own.

I feel I have got a decent base, with adjustability and customisation options, now just need to get it all dialled in and configured to work in harmony if that makes sense.

    Totally, best way to be!

I just need some adjustable top mounts and a few other handling bits then that side of things will be done.

Alcons are cheaper to buy ?

Not seen that before, usually they cost more to buy and then rotor replacements are mega bucks compared to AP.

Will these need additional cooling? I can’t see much in the way of cooling to the brakes.

In theory, they should cope better with heat than stock. I haven’t got brake cooling on my to do list at the moment that’s for sure. To be fair, I didn’t get much brake fade on track with the stock brakes upgraded with fluid and pads, they did get seriously hot though. It’s just they never felt as good as the brakes on the E92, which were AP 378 6 piston on the front.

Can't wait to see these AP's on the car, looking most excellent so far!

Sadly I feel it may end up costing me, I am soooo weak when it comes to brake porn!!!

    I know what you mean.

All of my modding expense is the responsibility of Chrisc, it’s all his fault!

I believe Radi-Cal 2 calipers are lighter and pads are super easy to change.....if that matters to you

Also, most AP kits I’ve seen have fully floating rotor assemblies ( far better imo )

First place I found them on google!

I didn’t check the specs or anything though.

i liked reading your post and how you grew more in love with car. I hate black wheels normally but those on your M3 look great. I so wanna lower my M4 Comp but scared it will scrape on so many slopes , it does already when it sits high
