After discussions with Tegiwa Euro (Site Sponsor) on friday they are happy to offer a group buy on their 100 cell cats.

    http://www.tegiwaeuro.com/tegiwa-bmw-e46-m3-high-flow-race-cats-100-cell.html

The cats are £450 on the website. Tegiwa have said if we can get 2 - 4 units sold they can offer a price of £405 posted. If we can get 5+ units sold they can offer the cats for £382.50 posted. So hopefully we can get 5+ to commit. I am having a set so need 4+ more names.

What’s the main difference between these and say a set on eBay for half the price?

The sets on ebay are all 200 cell cats, which is the same as euro oem cats. The 100 cell cats will offer better exhaust flow, their will be a increase in power, it will also increase the rasp noise and add a louder tone to the exhaust note.

And obviously the quality will be better from Tegiwa, who have been praised by the Japanese car clubs for their parts. The ebay ones have been known for poor quality and short life span. I think you’ll struggle to find any 100 cell cats on uk ebay anyway to compare. The only other companies I know that make them are supersprint and miltek and are into the thousands.

Yeah definitely a remap to get the best out of them, but a lot of people have fitted them and not remapped their car and noticed a good difference. Also standard oem cats are selling for £350+ on ebay, so not much price difference to upgrade.

    No image on their website......

Their website is poor in general.

Saying that, I would be interested in the group buy.

Tegiwa euro website is new and has not been live for very long. They have only recently started offering parts for european cars. Their main website is for Japanese cars. Which has been going for years. I can ring them and ask for some pictures.

I have spoken to Tegiwa, they said their photographer has took photos of all their euro products and they are in the process of updating the website. He will email me the photos today, so hopefully I can upload these shortly.

I am looking at these but it would need to be fairly soon. Like a couple of weeks and I can get them for £405 anyway as I compete in M3 Cup. So only any good to me if we can get 5 people

I would also like to order these quickly, my oem cats are currently shot.

I am not sure they will provide a video of these fitted. I could ask however. Their are many members on here with them, so maybe they can comment on the sound and their are videos on youtube of m3’s with 100 cells fitted.

Speaking from experience with my 993 the 100 cell cats will likely make the car a lot louder (and better!).

Getting them through the MOT requires them to be good and hot; some garages are unaware or won't help you so normally you need to give the car a spirited drive or have your preferred garage do that if they are doing the MOT for you.

I might be interested but but need to see what the Borla exhaust is like that I've just bought as the combination might be a bit too much - this is supposed to be my quiet car...

I’ve got a set of these fitted. Sadly my input into the sound of them won’t be much help.

    My system currently is as follows;

    Stock manifold
    Tigewa 100 cell
RE NON resonated center section with ECV
    Stock back box

I went from above system to decat and the engine felt so much free in comparison. I found the rasp to be too much with my exhaust mods. And with what I have planned it would have been too much. I then went to the 100cells and the rasp is definitely reduced but still louder than before the decat. Still with me?

The fit I found to be not perfect. And it had a knock on effect down the line. To the point that I had to make a small adjustment to my RE X-pipe. Only small, but still an adjustment for it to clear the V brace.

Cost wise, I got them for £405 using the cutters discount so I would have thought that the £405 price would have been the start price. Then any further discount would have been from there onwards?

Praise must be given to the OP though for getting this started. And I’m sorry if my input puts anyone off. But it’s just my thoughts.

On the whole I’m very impressed with the performance. I’m still to put the car in for an MOT. I think it will be fine with a good heat up before hand plus I get no eml because I codded them out.

    I hope I’ve helped a few

    Regards,

    Craig.

Granted, mine are Supersprint but I had no issue with eml lights or passing emissions.

Less than 400 quid for 100 cell cats compare to miltek or Supersprint can't be argued with if you don't want the hassle of decats :)

I’d be interested in these but the fitting issue isn’t something I’d put up with tbh
