Hi Mark, good to see you here mate :)
Afraid so, although he got his old man to bring his focus RS so had a play in that then annoyed the rest of us for passenger laps lol

Bloody annoying, I think it’s basically been dyno’d for about 3 hours and that’s it. :(

Likewise matey. I'm glad he managed some laps anyway. Not a total write off.. And sounds like you managed a good day..

Hopefully join you guys in future

You really need a nice new set of rubber to get a good lap and be lucky with traffic.

Slicks must be worth 3 seconds easily compared to cup2.

Got to carry some good speed.

Makes my 2.09 zestino time creditable.

Just watched the red Porsche on youtube, poor tyres losing massive amounts of corner speed.

    Didn’t see this thread beforehand.

Was on the waiting list but turned up anyway late morning and got on. It didn’t seem as busy as feared (maybe some stayed away due to misforecast rain?) though still someone on every lap to get around.

Met Scott and Sam. Had a few ding dongs with Sam’s M4. Think I had under estimated them as heavy barges. He was going surprisingly well in the corners too. Had me on the straights. Kept trying to get on the straights with a little gap to keep him behind :)

Warning - incoming driver excuses :D

I last used the car at Spa on slicks and had previously stiffened all the ARBs and the dampers.
Yesterday on fairly used/heat cycled cup 2s the car was not happy in the slow corners. Lots of chirping and grinding. But given the late start and on the day generally couldn’t be bothered to get under the car to reset it so just drove around it. After a while keyed in to the 2:10s

Had a few faster aborted laps due to traffic. But I guess leaves something on the table to look forward to next time!

Mark - yeah I’m sure we’ll get something organised soon, can’t wait to see your motor!

Scott - annoyingly the bloody GoPro didn’t get the footage of our play, I’ll go through the footage again later as after 16 mins the GoPro splits the recording so I may just have missed it.

Billy - your times at Snett are so bloody impressive and will only get quicker once your car is finished. As you say it’s all about the corner speed and to do those times with comparatively low power is fantastic. That Evo I think was something like 650bhp and 1150kg. I’m sure we’ll do a track day soon, would be very grateful for a pax lap :)

LaSource - lol the penny dropped when i saw that video - I’ve been subscribed to you YouTube channel for years! Great to meet you (didn’t catch your name sorry) and follow your GT3, seeing the white one as well was ace.
The M4 impresses me more the more I do with it, that it’ll be anywhere near a GT3 let alone do similar lap times to a modified one speaks volumes. Would love to see the vids after I passed you, how much roll was there?
The GT3 looked totally composed but sadly the vids don’t capture the noise.

Yup, and a C2! There’s a very healthy race series for both. Christian competed in the latter, most reliable car he’s driven :muttley:

Great driving guys!! The M4 looks bloody quick. Enjoyed the video with the Porsche’s and the 2cv.

I’m sure with Dunlop 03G or slicks your be saving a easy 3 seconds a lap.

Thanks Billy, yeah I need to get decent tyres, the cup 2’s I bought second hand and are from 2016. Had new R888 before that and couldn’t believe how much grip they gave for the first hour or so of use. Everyone says those Dunlop’s are great so I really should try a set

A view from the other 996...(the on video comments are a more banter than anything serious)
...they do need a pat on their backs for going well for 15 year old cars (based on a 20 year old design!)

Lol! Good to see the big bloater on camera - looks really good for a standard car in terms of roll.
He did well to get that time for his first time there, got to admit to being scared he was going to crash into me in the traffic, he certainly wasn’t scared!

Yeah I got scared too watching the two of you!

I think he was down to 2:09-2:10 at the end.

Yup, was a bit too close for comfort!

Did you see the first video I posted? Did you get the footage form this session after I passed you? - would you mind sharing it as I’d love to see it :)
