Eventually got car back together and turned out it was the pivot pin, only took it for a quick spin but all seems fine
Cool good to hear it's sorted. Had mine done as well clutch (had done about 50,000 since it was replaced without pivot pin being replaced), pivot pin and detent spring all good now back to how it should be. If it'd been replaced with the last clutch guess I would of never had an issue.
When I first tried the bleeding of the clutch it failed on with clutch solenoid error 23 which was one of the codes read by the rac and so I had tested the solenoid and found it ok, turned out I’d left the plug off it!, but was an original fault I had to investigate due to broken £10 plastic pin and about £400 spent on used parts, nightmare but it’s done now
