I have a nice second hand one for sale.

Done 57k miles and was working a treat when removed.

Could save you a few pennies.

Burkhart engineering do a new motor, get that (if that's the problem and not something else, as "the pump has dies" is pretty vague when it can be a few things that can go wrong)

Which garage did you go to, a local one? I'd advise getting someone who's worked on these before to fix it, as they can be temperamental, and you want someone who's worked on these before, no offense to the garage you use.

Or get said pump as advertised above, then refurn your old one and sell it

If you can take the motor off you could just take it to a place that rewinds alternators or starters and probably get it reconned for a fraction of the price

Take it off and get the whole unit refurbished - eBay SMG and you will find people like BBA Reman who will rebuild it and give a lifetime warranty for £500. Why risk anything used when the price is so close. I don't know and have never used BBA so can't comment on them as a company.
