Someone I know seems to think a remapped Audi A5 quattro would beat an e92 M3 I dont think it would as it's only 300bhp but apparently the quattro is quick being 4wd what's people's opinions ?.

Off the line, it will take the M3, the M3 will then catch up and over take it. Assuming both are auto and are doing a standing start.

Quattros have pretty much instant traction off the line.

I had a 3.0 TDI A5 Sportline don't get me wrong shed loads of torque and very smooth acceleration enough to scare off any other sales reps in there motorway mile munchers but it's not a sports car. With simple map yes you will see mid to high 4 second 0-60's and it will pull well to 120mph before starting to huff a bit.

Wet, greasy roads I believe yes it would give a E92 M3 a battle, in the dry I think the gap could be minimal due to Quattro off the line but longer you run the more the M3 will have an advantage over the distance.

If your questioning the newer slower models, or the 2.0 A5's then no chance.

Should be a walk in the park. Even in the wet if you control the urge to mash the throttle he shouldn't stay ahead for long at all.

Mind you in gear anything boosted with a snappy auto box can surprise an e92 until that lovely V8 wakes up.

    Don’t get the Audi thing.
I’m noticing badges on the new one 4.0 and 5.0 yet they are only 2000cc and 3000cc engines stupid

According to google the a5 2.0 diseasal of that year has 170bhp and with a remap you get 210-220.

I reckon the e92 would absolutely dick on the A5.

    LOL

Saw one earlier, from the front it looked like a 2015 RS3, had the RS3 Badage and qauttro along the grill.

Went passed, looked in my rear view and it was a 07/08 S3 lol

Even if it did it's still an Audi which makes it boring and **** and despite my dislike for the e92 I would rather an e92 than an oil burning quattro audi that understeer it's way to work.

Regardless, it’s a fùcking A5, the worst Audi model ever, with such an awful ‘middle-manager /sales rep’ image! I actually hate the A5. Dullest looks and worst lines ever (Mk1).

And seriously, even it it’s close... What does a traffic light drag even prove? Such a pointless measure of a car. Tesla will destroy pretty much anything... But would you want to track one, or chose one for a spirited back road rip over a slower M3? Thought not...

I think you should out drag him (on a private road of course:p), then post the video on youtube so he is shamed into admitting he was wrong:muttley:.
