What're you driving?
2011 BMW E92 M3
My wife’s 17 year old 318ci is coming to the end of it’s life. Have been looking at 4 series convertibles as a replacement, but the M4’s look so much better value and will probably depreciate less. I was wondering if they are easier to drive than the E92 M3’s, as she finds the dct box in mine challenging.

1. What’s a duct box?
2. If she finds driving a 3 series a challenge may I suggest a bus season ticket?
3. Is your first name Jim?

Haha, we’ve both got bus passes, was just wondering if the f80 was any easier to drive than the e92.

What're you driving?
Bmw m4 convertible competition
No they are hard to drive and take some getting used to she will kangaroo all over the place, she will park up not leave in gear car will roll away . I often rev mine and it’s in drive and nearly gone through the front door it was a good job the handbrake was on . Don’t do it a better option would be a 4 series convertible much easier and simpler to get on with

Alright Andrew. No need to brag
Can you change the title of this thread please? I was under the impression there was some sort of swap deal on offer.

With the gearbox setting in one and everything dialed down to comfort there shouldn’t be any such issues. Ultimately you’d have to get her to test drive one to see how she feels with it. You’re right in that residuals would be stronger than say a 440i.

My wife hates my e93 and the DCT box because it doesn’t creep like a “proper” automatic! Meh, meh, meh.

She loves the e-Golf though …. that has no creep :suicide:

Maybe you’d be better with a M340i or 330D so that little bit more comfort/luxury as a daily - ZF box would probably be easier too

Can't have a women dissing a man's gearbox, divorce is my recommendation

Mrs Deadeye drives my car without issue. No modern cars are "difficult" to drive.

As for creepy gearboxes, you only have to lightly dab the throttle and it will creep.
