I'm in the final stages of buying an F80 and as we all do, I'm doing all the ins and outs research on ownership.

The 1200 mile service.. it looks like the one I'm getting had it done at around 1350 miles.

The chap from sales is saying 500 miles either side is fine. As this guy is BMW I took him at his word.

Out of interested, anyone had warranties voided or disagree with this?

I know it's only 150 miles and I'm sure there are people out there who never had it done with no issues at all.

    Cheers

You'll be fine mate. Mine was done at 1k miles. Recent thread about "overdue serivces" impacting warranty and I believe someone checked with BMW and it doesn't.

I collected my new m3 last week. Was told by the sales guy not to let the car go over 2k miles for the running in service.
Mines currently on 1100 miles and I will be doing it by 1400 miles at the absolute latest!

Mine was done at 1500 and is fine with BMW and warranty - Ive checked.

BMW said officially the cut off is 1000 miles over any service inc RI is classed as late.

Also any late service is highlighted in the iDrive in the Service history - the 'OK' bit next to the date entry appears orange apparently.

    Don't worry

Rule of thumb is +/- 500.

If it’s not been done then that’s a different issue. Dealers cannot (should not) sell cars that have not followed the manufacturers recommended servicing regime. Warranty is invalid

While this thread is on about the RIS may I ask how much people have been paying for one? Mine is due soon and stratstone derby have quoted me over £400 which I think sounds ridiculous for an engine and diff oil change!
