Hello mate, i purchased mine from a motor factors - make sure halfords know its for a convertible.. how much are they charging you? The vert one is about £40 more than the regular one. You should be looking at around £140 for the bosch vert battery.

I killed my oem battery and got a Bosch S5 battery from Halfords...my vert has all the toys and a rather meaty amp, quality cables and 2 kill switches that 100% isolate it from the battery when required...but my car at times doesn't see much use and I was finding a lot that I had to keep jump starting it after say a week of no use:rolleyes:...don't have that spec to hand but was recommended by Halfords (5 year warranty my back side...started needed jump starts in under 6 months!)

Did some research and found it was actually less than oem recommended specs, so I went with an alternative to over compensate for the recommended specs...

Same spec as mentioned before but is for a 4.2 V8 A4cab and fits like a glove in the tray - hasn't missed a beat:thumbsup:...I paid £79 with 25% discount from ecp + get 5 year warranty

Errrrrm...I have a slight feeling the coupe battery maybe a different size as us vert boys need the extra juice for our straightners and hair dryers etc...or maybe thats just me :muttley:

Best thing to do mate get you tape measure out and measure your tray:thumbsup: I was after a battery from the M5 (V10) but had no chance making that fit...but if this will go in yours happy days because its not the best being at the lights, music whacked up loud, getting emotional hitting the high notes and the car goes dead and completely shuts down!

    315mm x 175mm and 175mm tall for the bosch I went with:thumbsup:

Getting this battery delivered today as i have a lot of extras on my car and seems to be draining pretty quick. I think the battery trays are the same for both coupe and vert and this battery has same dimensions as other coupe battery users. Fingers crossed anyway.:peace:

Got the battery delivered and fitted it this morning. Fits like a glove and its nice and secure.

Just wondering about the breather pipe people have mentioned. I still have a hose sticking out but not sure if the fittings missing or where it goes. Any ideas?

Make sure you grab the bits off your old oem battery, with the battery installed looking down at it behind and to the side of the positive terminal you would have had a little black l shaped tube which will plug in a small hole in the battery and your breather pipe goes into that:thumbsup:

I've also just bought this battery for my '03 convertible - went to the Eurocarparts office to pick it up but ordered it online with the 25% discount (cheers, Indy!). I was slightly sceptical about the 'fits like a glove' comments, but in actual fact, yes, it literally is a perfect fit and you can clamp it down with the OEM clamp.

A couple of asides - I couldn't see anywhere for the breather pipe to go in the Bosch so I didn't bother. It wasn't connected to the battery I took out (non-OEM) anyway so I'm not overly concerned. After installing the new battery the windows didn't drop when opening/closing doors. After lowering and closing them using the button they reverted to normal operation. Same thing with the wing mirror operation using the key lock button - failed initially until I pressed the button on the inside of the door to operate them and then they worked fine from the fob.

Finally, I've had my NS xenon refuse to ignite more and more frequently over the last couple of months and this week it's hardly lit at all. I've used the car 4 times since replacing the battery and both lights have fired up perfectly first time. If I've just saved myself the hassle of replacing an igniter or ballast I will be very very happy...
