changed all to MP4s on my M4 love em, zero complaints , immediately felt way better in the damp too, warm up faster also. Was chatting to Chris Harris at litchfield two months ago, he had on his bmw, and said he loves them as all year round tyre and perfect choice.

Ok I was simplifying, my point was regardless of push rod or pull rod, the tyre does a huge part of the damping outside of the heave damper and heave spring, therefore the damping of tyre is massive.

With a car like ours, there's a damper and a spring in each corner so you don't need much squish in the tyre - therefore not a fair comparison.

I thought the letter was a tyres speed rating?

    Yes Telsy you're right,

    The 255/35/R19 marker reprisents, (Tyre Width / mm)/(Sidewall Height / percent% of tyre width)/(Radius / Inches)

Where a 96Y tyre is rated for 710kg of load (per tyre) due to the 96 and the letter Y represents that the tyre has been speed tested upto a speed of 186MPH.

You can also find the year and week of the year your tyre was produced on the sidewall, e.g. (0415), corresponds to the 4th week in 2015.

    I hope this helps.

To be pedantic... the 19 is the diameter, not the radius.

There’s no way you can draw a meaningful conclusion about the sidewall stiffness between two different tyres and their load ratings. Put another way, you can’t say that a Goodyear tyre of a given size and a 96 load rating will have the same sidewall stiffness as a Michelin tyre of the same size with a 96 load rating.

(edited to change “But” to “Put”)

You are more likely to write your car off in winter with the MPSS, if you dont modulate the trottle, that's for sure.

I was exiting a left hand bend, came onto the throttle a split second too soon, whilst in MDM, and ohhh man, my heart went into arrest. My car was absolutely out of control. I was doing between 40-50 on a slightly damp day 7 celcius.

    Luckily I did not crash.

I'm running stage 2 and it feels like so long ago that I've been able to plant my foot and keep it there. I have no confidence in the floaty suspension either.
