    Hey all,

About to buy some PS4s for my M3 but it looks like the rim protection on the PS4S is really small compared to the PSS.

Can anyone that's changed give me some feedback as to if this is the case?

    Thanks inadvance

    Yes, PS4Ss are shit.

(unless they've brought out star rated versions in our sizes as I have no experience of these)

I think go for PSS I know a lot of people like/prefer PS4s but PSS are a perfect all rounder.

What’s the preferred tyre all round - PSS or PS4S? And what’s the issue with PS4S?

Size for size the 4S is a chunkier tyre all round so I think no less protected from kerbs than the original super sports.

I know deadeye has voiced his concerns on the 4S’s many times, but I honestly can’t fault them, guess I am just getting old and rarely drive the car hard enough to notice.

I prefer MPSS on fronts and MP4s on rears.

I had MPSS on my M4. I have just changed the rears to PS4S.

My previous M4 I put 4 new PS4S on and didn't like the turn in at the front the sidewalls seem to be softer.

I am now of the conclusion the PS4S on the rear aren't as good as MPSS. My traction light definitely is more active with the new ones on.

Once scrubbed in they are way better than MPSS. As for turn in, if the car is sprung properly and Geo’d, once again the PS4S with good pressures are without doubt the better tyre.
    .....well for me anyhow :drive1:

Ss front and rear.... Geo done.
    Happy.
Still loses traction easily in 3rd if you are ham-fisted... But to be expected with the shitty Scottish weather

I have that setup on mine with the 666M; only by default as rears needed replacing, and it does indeed work well:drive1:
