Would you go £160k on a 991.2 gt3 or 991.1 gt3 RS? It seems the .2 would stay with an .1 RS but the RS just has that “look”!!.

GT3RS always holds its value better than a GT3, but if you are using it more as a road car then the .2 GT3 makes more sense.

You can currently buy a low mileage 991.2 GT3 for £140k

I’ve just purchased a McLaren for a keen price within the trade.

Be watching the market on these for the last 8months +, and found that you need to buy the lowest mileage the best spec car for your ££, a overall average price of the GT4 is £81,500 out of the 36 for sale today, lowest £67,995 to highest £92k, these are still selling at about 1 or 2 a week but the low spec, high owners, high mileage, private add cars are hanging around but owners and dealers are not dropping the advertised sticker price and if they do its only £500 to £1000 max, I bought one in November from a main dealer and got £3.5k off the window price but that was off a £86k car which in GT4 terms is the higher end of the market, you will get a deal but don't expect to get a huge amount off, the options is where the market is for these cars as there is a big gap in price to spec, my feeling on future values of these cars in the next 2 to 3 years would be 10% fall due to the new car coming out and Brexit but they will go up again and level out in say 5 to 6 years time, you couldn't say that about many sports cars which are on the market today, good luck in you search and hoped this has helped, remember its a classic already, well in my eyes it is

    And because you’re an owner!

Seriously though, I’m genuinely interested to see how these cars will fare in the next few years with Brexit, ULEZ, potential labour government etc

The same as all collectable cars previous 20s 30s 40s 50s 60s 70s 80s 90s 20s there will always be a market for a classic cars, people dictate the price the more rarer the more you pay, its all about affordability, I think the interest rates would be the biggest threat to the market, who knows, life is about choices, gambles, what if, but I don't fear Brexit

If history is anything to go by...one of the very first things to take a hit due any kind of financial uncertainty are expensive car prices.
I'd be avoiding any expensive purchases until the Brexit dust settles.
Although you might be able to pick a fire sale bargain if things really go tits up with a no deal brexit.

A recession seems due but can’t see it anytime soon as growth while slowing globally is still strong. When it hits interest rates will shoot up and cars will take a hit. A combination of not being affordable to borrow to buy and people needing sell. I don’t think any form of brexit will trigger this. There is never a good time to buy so my moto is to just enjoy what I have today. That said I have no spare cash at the moment to buy what I want :( (I’m following GT3 prices keenly)

991.1 GT3's have serious engine issues. I think you need a G engine for the latest, but would be a tough sell come 10 years when the extended warranty runs out. Porsche know these engines have issues. Not uncommon to hear people having 3 or 4 engine replacements.

Was the McLaren an MP4-12C…? Getting cheap now. But again, lots of issues. McLaren's first new car and teething issues to go with it. £2500 for a new battery, sensor going on door so can't get in, panel corrosion, gearbox seals (McLaren replace the gearbox).. wouldn't touch one with a barge pole.
