Managed to find the time to give her a good clean.
Great day at Oulton park with the Porsche club.
Update - Randomly my bass stopped on my car whilst I was on the way to work. checked online and forums and this was a common fault for all porsche models. The amplifier fails and stops working completely. Manage to find the part number. Same for the 997,996 and boxster and pick a used amplifier in great condition. Most forums will tell you that the amp is housed under the passenger seat, I can confirm after half an hour searching it isn't under the seat on the 997 carrera 4. It was under the plastic panel in the front boot space near the battery. fitted the amp (plug and pay) and tested the amp. The bass is back and all fixed.
Wow! That engine was a mess. Massively impressive project - well done.
You shouldn’t give two shits about what I think, but personally, I’d change the wheels if it were mine. Not exactly sure what I’d put on it but, those have never done anything for me and I feel like it deserves something with a bit more pow. Tasteful pow, obviously.
I just kept them wheels on as there were the wheels it came out the factory with. I do like the gen 2 turbo wheels. Could put them on one day.
I have also thought about getting the wheels done in black or potentially changing to these HRE Performance wheels.
So today I got around to fitting a resonator delete, air intake silicone pipe and a K&N panel filter. Quite a popular mod to make the car sound better and more aggressive. Fitting was pretty straight forward. You can hear the induction noise now and it is definitely louder in the cabin. I recommend the mod for how cheap and easy it is to do. Also it's easily reversible.
Love the journal and like the new mod I’m sure it’s sounds nice now.
Looking good, I'd love a nicely sorted 997
I really want a 997 to turn into a track car. Too much money for me tho
Thanks guys. She’s coming along. Gonna get some spacers next.
Mine handles so well, not been in anything that comes close to it but would be scared to run one on the track. Even with a rebuild and steel liners. They just cost to much money if they go wrong. That’s why I have a e46, which i’ll be tracking soon.
