Timely post....can't offer much advice but I dropped off my wheels at Platinum a few days ago - recommendation from this forum . Pick them up at the weekend hopefully - I'm having mine diamond cut, so not powdercoated. I had originally decided to get them powder coated, but the guy persuaded me to have them diamond cut. He's got an e46 M3 and showed me his wheels, which looked good.
I saw a set of CSLs on an e92 they had just powdercoated - looked good, but didn't look too closely,I'm afraid.
How did the wheels turn out pal? Im looking at getting mine powdercoated silver again next week.
Sorry for the delay, been away on holiday.
I had mine Diamond Cut and I'm really happy with the finish - I saw a set that had just been powdercoated and they looked good - I'd have no hesitation in recommending them.
That's good to know. I've got some subframe bits to do, went in to see him but he wanted £200 which seemed expensive, but I could be off the mark.
They did a powder coat on my wheels and turned them round in a day........
VERY happy with them...........
Sounds good, how much did they charge?
£50 for powder
£90 for diamond cuts
including tyre swapping etc........
They did my mates M4 Comp pack wheels in satin black. Same day turn around for £200 which included removing the tyres and then re-fitting, balancing etc. He was really pleased and even though I tried to nit pick to wind him up, I thought they had done an excellent job too.
Had mine done there in the summer. Excellent work. My car is on their facebook page. Black M4.
Many thanks for the kind words chaps.
You'l be glad to know, the bloke behind the scenes (me) is a M3 owner also
Where about are you mate, I will need some scuff damage seeing to soon.
This place has now closed.
Any other recommendations?
The Wheel Specialist Manchester, not the cheapest but they get done right.
