Oil temp not going up and oil level amber light

    Any one have a clue about oil temp gauge it just stays at 50 after a good run it don't budge, I have e46 m3, And the amber oil light pops up for a bit Every time I fire her up, help us out people

    You need a new oil temp sensor. Located in bottom of sump. If you are due a service soon then wait until then, if not give the car a birthday and change it sooner as you'll have to drop the oil to change it. The OEM ones are made by Hella. I got mine for £50 but unbranded ones can be had for less than £20. Or you could go to the dealers and part with over £100! It's a common fault but an easy fix.

    Sweet mate, is the oil temp linked to the coolant temp aswell?

    £29 of stretch bolts to refit the reinforcement plate properly. Not worth throwing a set away on a cheap sender if you have to do the job again.

    Temp gauge is not supposed to point straight up if your alleged issue is it pointing to about 11 o'clock
