    Hi folks,

With winter here and plenty of cold starts, perhaps it's time to consider changing the oil that you use in your car.

    Does your antifreeze need changing?
Is your gearshift okay when cold?
Do you need something to protect your car from the weather?

Let us know if you need any advice, we are here to help. You can call us on 01209 202944, email us at [email protected], or just ask here.

    Cheers

Edge Sport is definitely the wrong oil for you guys. FST is just the name of their new technology in making their edge brand as all the edge variants have this now. You want the Edge professional or just Edge or TWS.

Mpow3r is spot on, the Edge Sport was the lower spec 10w-60 that Castrol produced and they have now discontinued it.

You could use it for top us, a small amount isn't a problem, but really you want the proper Edge 10w-60.

    Cheers

    Hi

I would use a 5w-40 synthetic and you will find those through the link below.

    http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-656-5w-40.aspx

Out of those, the best ones are the Fuchs/Silkolene Pro S, Millers CFS/CFS NT, Motul 300V, Redline and Gulf Competition. they can v The Motul 8100 X-Cess, Millers XFS, Fuchs GT1 XTL/Supersyn, Shell Helix and Mobil Super 3000 are good, cheaper alternatives.

You need an ATF for the gearbox.

    http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-1432-atfs-automatic-transmission-fluid.aspx

The Fuchs ATF6000, Amsoil ATF and Redline D4 are the best options, but any of the Dexron III ones are fine as cheaper alternatives.

    Cheers

    Hi oilman

    BMW E60 M5 2006

I recently had an oil change at BMW but am planning a 2k odd mile trip around Europe this summer, to include track days. I intend to order some engine oil for the trip as the V10 is a Thirsty mistress, I think I know the answer but I'd be grateful of your advice and a link if you don't mind
    Regards
    Bruno

Is castrol 10-60 the best quality you can get at that grade?

Don't fuschs or motul do any? If so would you recommend them over the castrol GTX?
