I've been led to believe it's actually 0W30, this sits better with me as the S55 was designed with this oil in mind and also, as mines a new car, the 0W30 will provide better cold start protection. It's booked in for RIS in a few weeks and they confirmed they will replace with 0W30.
Yes, got it from eBay from a BMW dealership who sell on there, got a proper BMW invoice etc too with relevant part numbers.
Hi @oilman What would you recomend for mine. E46 m3 2002 Road car with regular track use (spa coming up) No engine mods Thank you
Me too for about three years now. Lots of track days, winter use and motorway miles. The car definitely runs smoother on this stuff than Castrol.
Hi. Some oil advice please... Make: bmw Model: 330ci Year: 2005 Engine type: 3lt petrol Performance modifications: none Driving style: (road / off-road / track etc) road The car uses a bit of oil now being at 150k miles. About 1/2 Litre every 500 miles which is mostly short journeys. Is there an oil recommendation that may reduce this. Also no oil leaks as valve cover gasket was replaced recently. Cheers. G
Hi I was hoping you'd say 0w-30 or 5w-30 as then a 5w-40 would reduce consumption. You don't really want to go any thicker as it will reduce flow, so trying a different 5w-40 is the sensible option as it may burn off slower. These meet the correct specs. https://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-685-bmw-longlife-01-engine-oil.aspx https://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-686-bmw-longlife-04-engine-oil.aspx Cheers Tim
