His other clients for the day cried off due to the rain so he sat in my 12 laps of the day - standing water and all / wet line to try and remember now as well ! Andy has got to be one of the best out there / strongly recommend him - I will look him up again next time !

Track set up Swifts are everything you need on the ring in my opinion - manual / nimble / light / fast as nearly everything in the corners / just loose out on the straights - anyone can drive fast straight !

    Good tuition is gold dust.
    Gt2rs might be ok I suppose ;) , failing that the swifts aren’t a bad shout .

That is BTG time, I thought you were talking about the whole lap... Sub 8 for the whole lap would be really quick.

    Still pretty decent, congrats.

I'm booked on for September / October DN rackday this year, and then for Spa on the 2nd Oct following that.

Not doing much in the way of events this year but very much looking forward to that - hopefully see some of you there

Only manufacturers use the whole lap times, everyone else will pretty much always be referring to the BTG lap, which is the default measurement.

I'll be there also at one of the events to sniff out a place. Hopefully I'll be bringing an AMG GT R in place of my M3.

If we are quoting the rules then BTG is only starting from the TF car park - flying laps on track days aren’t BtG officially.

BTG times are usually taken from a TF day, so its pretty much as quick as you can accelerate from leaving the barriers up to the point when you pass under the bridge that the clock starts. Some people have said over the years a 'flying start' from taking DH flat out on a trackday is not true BTG, but its doesnt actually make that much difference to lap time imo.

i've always found minimal difference between flying laps and TF starts, any increase in speed under the bridge means very little over such a long lap
