Goin through insurance
Go and use the search facility, plenty on this subject about 3 weeks ago.....
You will see the Genuine windscreen versus China import windscreen (fitted by Ins and some windscreen companies) argument....
Paul at Glasstec is very well recommended on many forums. He did mine and was spot on.
Thanks for your comments guys
Autoglass were good for me, fitted genuine glass, only problem was they weren't aware it was a comfort screen so had to come twice - visited me at work so wasn't really a problem.
Bit of sealant overspill but apart from that was quite impressed with the chap.
Oh and I called Autoglass about it, was a big chip, they guy said "hmm, just adjust your rear view mirror and maybe your hand slips" - was soon a big crack that could only be replaced
Another good place is National Windscreens in Tamworth - operated by Neil Payne. The regional manager for National Windscreens pointed me towards Neil because of his experience and working on special classics (eg. Job would be excellent... no dodgy rain sensor issues/leaks etc).
He ordered the genuine windscreen from BMW (climate version in my case) and ended up rejecting it.
From what I remember, he said something about the pattern or mesh was poor and demanded BMW replace it, which they did - top bloke

insurance wont' let you choose company. Call them and ask what they using .
They will, tell them you want OEM BMW...nothing else.
They WILL relent...it is your car, why have a "cheap" screen?
