Couple more mods in progress today:

Interior door handles have now been refinished in carbon. Looks a lot better than the awful peely OEM finish and will match the centre console and dash trims.


I've also upgraded the rear view mirror to this one, from an E46 320i. It's broader and gives a better view. I also prefer the look of it and it might not leak that awful fluid the oem mirror can leak.

Back under the car this morning, new bracket and linkage fitted to the headlight sensor. All sorted!

Little update, new Lemforder steering arms, track rod ends and Meyle gaiters are built up and fitted.


I just eyeballed the settings against the old arms as best I could. It'll do till I can get it aligned again.

Yes! It's on order!

Tried Hack Engineering and Cotswolds, but local BMW main dealer came in cheapest by a mile!

Yeah I know they had a new part number that's superceded the old one.

Good to know you've got it sorted, I'm guessing it was close to 1k

Little win today... fitted new seatbelts!


Absolutely love the red, it's a colour I'm trying to have as a highlight throughout the car. Calipers, cage and seatbelts so far!

These also work great with the bucket seats and keep the car useable on the road.

Things are progressing now!

I've acquired a complete rear end for refurb purposes


Plan is to strip it all down. A few bits are off already. Then powdercoat, re-bush etc. I have adjustable rear arms to go on as well. Finally the diff will be sent off for a rebuild.

The new 4.44 final drive has landed as well which will be a game changer.


On the engine front, the secondary air injection delete is complete.



I just need to tidy up the bracket a bit. The ECU is off for remapping :)

Rear end is now stripped down


Wasn't bad a job at all! Now I'm just deciding what to paint, what to powdercoat and what to replace. Also where to take the diff to be built.

Back inside today, I've been re-working the doors

Off with the silver grab handles and on with the carbon ones



Also on the agenda was this door pull conversion kit from Hard Motorsport

I'll be honest, it was a pain in the **** to do the drivers door pull. It's fiddly and frustrating. You have to mess about with various shims, some of which were missing and putting the dowel pin in and out. Above all, it doesn't feel like a £180 product at all so I won't recommend it!

New supervisor kitty, checking I'm not missing anything



All finished! I do have some upgraded door speakers to fit but couldn't be arsed after how stressed I got with the door pulls!



I'm also progressing with the rear-end work, more on that soon!

I won't ever go that quick, except maybe on a Ring trackday on the main straight.

I didn't realise the 46 has the same ratios as the E92 pretty much, 4.44 in my E92 is bloody mega, makes a massive difference to the car and well worth doing. Mine will do 167 on the limiter in 6th IIRC
