Well, here we go again, and given it was her first birthday on 8th June, I thought I would start a project thread.

This is a link to my last BMW project thread, and was just a little bit special. I hope to now do the same on the F80 platform.

I bought the car well prepared by Davy. He had cherished the car and thrown an absolute fortune at it to only do 3k miles in total... When he went and bought a GT3 RS and a M4 GTS I knew he may sell, and after a lot of badgering, he did :)

As with the previous car, I am fortunate to have friends who take amazing pics, so here are a few.

The car is well modded all round but the Intrax are incredible and the standout mod for me at the moemnt.

Over the past week I have acquired a set of 437m and some spacers. I'm not sure about my plans for the 437's yet, but a girl can never have too many shoes. :D

    On the hunting list is:
    • M Performance Seats (again)
    • v2 LED wheel (again)
    • Pedal Haus pedals (again)
    • Carbon, more carbon (again)

    ….you get the picture :)

Hope you like the pics and i look forward to sharing updates and progress.

That looks mighty impressive. It looks sooooo much better on the Golds... so bland with your new rims.

It's San Marino Blue. I didn't buy it for the colour but definitely think I have made the right choice.

Here's another pic or two :)

Not really a gold fan but those wheels look absolutely spot on. Fantastic colour combo

Over the past few days we have been laying some PPF on the entire front of the car plus some other parts.

My friend did it for me who is ex Reep and Topaz but now contracts out all across the country. Before watching him work, I had no idea of the skill involved and I am blown away by the end result. Thankfully my garage is extremely clean, big enough to close all doors and still work, but we also got lucky with next to no air movement that day. As you can imagine, dust is the enemy!

He used Suntek Ultra which went on brilliantly, and the finish is superb. I will need to update in a few months on the protection it affords and cleaning pros and cons as neither of these have been tested yet.

    The Process:

    The Detail and Extras:

(no witness marks at all on the corners, and even with the bonnet open, I genuinely cannot find where the tape ends)

(you have to look really closely to spot the line where we extended the stone chip protection on the rear arches)

We also covered the headlights, and lots of little bits. When he next comes over I am likely to do the black pillars between the doors and possibly the roof.

    The Celebratory Shots:

Thanks to another friend for these ;)

Any questions, comments or requests please shout :)
