Hello everyone.
I have admired various different BMWs over the years but have never had one before.
I missed the boat on a lot of them as the prices of them went up and up and the E46 boat has already set sail so I thought I should get onboard before it got too far out of the harbour.
After an extensive search, as there are some real dogs out there, I got this.

It is a bog standard pre-facelift manual.

Cheers, Tea.

It’s going to stay pretty much standard, I think.
I want to see if I can improve the gearshift a bit because I think the years have taken their toll.

The weather wasn't bad on Sunday and the roads were ok so I thought I would take it for a run.

I didn't get very far.

In fact, I didn't get anywhere at all as the clutch went straight to the floor with no resistance at all, apart from the return spring on the pedal.

The fluid is low in the reservoir so it's probably the slave cylinder but I haven't had chance to look yet.

It was all going so well...

The reservoir is both clutch and brake isn't it , if low maybe you were lucky , no brakes is not funny !

There’s a dam inside the reservoir so if the clutch leaks it still has fluid for the brakes.
