I’ve found a large crack in the MPE fitted to my M4.

It’s is out of warranty in September.

Does anyone know if the exhaust has a 2 or 3 year factory warranty?

It was fitted by the dealer from new.

You can get it welded up mate, but chances are it will more than likely crack again but deffo worth trying.

Did you buy your car and exhaust from the same dealer ??

Has your car done excessive mileage? If not then its worth asking about goodwill from the dealer. An exhaust shouldnt ‘break’ after 2 years. Not when it costs £3k+

The car and MPE both purchased from Coopers Norwich.

I’d go to Coopers then mate.

Stay calm and factual. You dont expect a premium exhaust to fail after 2 years and average mileage. Tell them you want a new rear silencer

Unfortunately mate you cannot claim under warranty for the reasons suggested. Your best bet is to pay someone to weld it.

What is crazy is the car comes with 3 years warranty but parts fitted to it before delivery are only 2 years! Does not make sense to me

I doubt they'll replace out of warranty. Opens up a can of worms for eveyone else so BMW will avoid that but it's worth a try I suppose. Paul the welder may be able to do something with that.

Mel - I suspect the old 'social media' threat is a waste of time. Everyone loves to hate until a new deal is offered.

    Its a shame

I hope to be proven wrong but there is more chance of Scott Bacon buying a bus pass, and Melvyn buying an I8.

I can guarantee you Stiggs, at about eighteen months mine will crack:)
And if they have stopped making them, they will just have to send over the Gts titanium one :muttley:
    But crack it will do:muttley:
