I'll not send you to sleep with 1000 words about me, let’s keep that short. I'm a grumpy middle aged car enthusiast, had many toys over the years (most of which would be worth a fortune now) including Mk1 Escort Mexico / Mk2 RS2000 / SWB Audi Quattro / Metro 6R4 rep / SRI's / GTE's Numerous E46 M3's / Sub 20k mile CS / a few 350z’s /2 Porkers / A sleeper of a V10 M5 Touring and currently the Mexico Blue M4 CP (below) - Right that's 30 years in 3 lines!

    Pedro:
Reason for yet another E46 M3 – Updated!
    In 2016 I wrote
: "Quite simply, after I traded in my mint CS and if you are an E46 fan then you'll know what I mean, that 2nd quick glance back, followed by a full turn and 10 second stare.... I just missed it."
Here in 2019: Like a special snowflake, I seemed to have forgotten my own words an after finding the perfect car (a Techno Violet E46 M3 - below) that I spent a fortune on in time and money, I then received an offer that was just too strong to ignore. Plus, life had again changed, and I had no garage and had probably taken the car to as far as I could. The reality is I should never have sold it, I missed it from the day it left and regretted it……

A Pic from the advert that tempted me:

Why you are really here - Meet the Minx!
So, a few years on and again life changes, (plenty of room in garages) I still found myself watching the values of E46’s rise and knew I would end up in another. A New year’s resolution that I actually managed to keep was to buy another!

    The route to ownership:
A Cutters car that some of you will recognise, owned by a very nice enthusiast that came with everything from every old tax disc, original bill of sale and an absolute mountain of spare parts that had been collected over the years ‘just in case’…. I’m talking spare SMG, leathers unstitched from a new car, CV joints, bearings, lamps and even all the original parts that have been changed. A bloody nice guy that had truly loved this car and was still spending money on it up until the day we shook hands.

The car was originally up for a strong number, too strong for me in this market, so we had a little dance that turned into a very long slow dance, we had a divorce along the way as my head was turned by other beauties and finally agreed on a number I was happy with (he wasn’t and I still lose sleep about this…..honest!) However, the most fcked up thing happened en route to collection……. As I mentioned, I had been looking and talking to lots of people about their car and slapping that refresh button on all of the usual selling and auction sites. M3spurs amazing estroril CSL copy was tempting but number too strong, my old Techno Violet came up but lack of answers on post sale SMG issues and requested price turned me away (even though I still have a soft spot for it) and of course my other lust, Denso’s Ruby…..

Couple of pics of the cars mentioned above:

For those of you that followed my Techno build thread, you will remember that Denso (fellow cutter and great guy) beat me to buy a Ruby Red M3. Now we had stayed in touch discussed a possible purchase by me. Denso had/has the car in with James @ Redish for quite some time and he is bringing her back to her former glory, knowing Denso though, it will be better than new and I’ll probably shed a tear. Why? Well I was literally 20 minutes from collecting Minx and I get a message on Instagram that says ‘he would now look at a realist offer’……. I’m like “oh fek” and a few other choice words, pull over and have a long think, of course I decline as a deal had been done but my thinking was ‘well, you can afford both Mozz…..you could definitely cope with two projects, how cool would it be to have both???’

Man math at it’s best….. I look across to the Mrs and explain, well that’s a lie…..I get about 10 words into explaining and I get the ‘look’……that look that just tells me that the spare room in incoming, that no matter how many holidays and shiny things I buy her, life’s gonna be rough…… I decline Denso’s offer and he wishes me luck.

“Mozz…. STFU please mate and tell us about the car” okay, okay….General Car Info:
    • Carbon Black with Imola Red Interior

    To Do List:

    • Full respray to make it “perfect perfect” – Question is, do I stay the same colour!?!?
    • CSL Boot at the least – I just love that look, probably rear diffuser and maybe front bumper if I can find one (genuine)
    • Redo Leathers – They are great but my OCD will get the better of me
    • Change horrid steering wheel, it’s red and black and has lumps where the joins are
    • Change Storm Gear knob / paddle set to Titanium PVD full set – Chrome needs banned and binned
    • Exhaust – Probably a SuperSprint race system, might go full or maybe just back box
    • Tweak suspension to a slightly softer road setting, it will never be tracked and I’m old with grumpy bones
    • Engine clean – It’s clean but I need to be able to eat from it
    • Underside clean – Again it’s clean but OCD is a problem
    • Get Indoor custom cover made – It sits in the garage, but extra protection never hurts
    • Sort the rattles out…… New fixings on the door cards, etc
    • Talk to Dennis about the audio options
    • Refresh headlights / trims / bits / stuff / things / find more items that don’t need changing but can be, so shall be.
    More to come................

Struggling to see what you can do with this one to make it any better!

That happy feeling when the post man arrives and it's not some shite for her :D

Nice soft and fluffy indoor car cover from Storm Car Covers - Had one before, they make the best or one of the best money can buy. Seeing as the old girl just had four new shoes, figured she needed a new dress too! ;)

This one is the KALAHARI Ultimate Fleece Indoor Car Cover For BMW M3 (Special Order)

So super soft and fluffy fleece inside and soft yet strong on the outside:

Little bit of room for the CSL boot lid but you could just pull it down a little:

Very happy with the new dress! I mean, who doesn't like a lady in red

Looks mint... will definitely keep an eye on this thread!

Question: Who's dennis in relation to audio options?

I've had baris do his bit in terms of amp stage 2 upgrade, now looking to upgrade the front mids/tweeters to make the most of the boosted amp performance.

I'm led to realise from minimal research that HK system requires 3ohm speakers which limit choices

    Hi Mozz,

Fantastic looking example you've picked up there and really does look very well looked after with choice mods too :)

I've had a PM from bmlfc88 and responded, so thank you for the shout out !

Let me know when you are ready to discuss your options for the Audio and any other choice/rare/sought after mods as I do keep an eye out for certain bits!

My car is in for a full overhaul for mechanical and maintenence stuff now that it's had it's fully respray, a few more little things to clear up and will be in good fettle again and I can bring it to events and meets again ! As you aren't too far away from me, can also zip over and discuss in person if you like as well :)

    Cheers, Dennis!
