I've been riding for 14 years now. My first bike a nc30 and I remember opening the throttle fully for tuebforst time and thinking this is way too fast and I was never going to get used it lol. After that I brought a brand new cbr600rr and got bored rather quickly that so I brought a brand new gsxr1000 k5 in stealth colour. I had it 4 weeks before having a massive off on it and wrote it off. I've been riding ever since lol. Over thebyeatps I had loads of bikes, the last a few months was a rra fireblade but now I've just got a k6 750 which I'm currently sorting for track use and this year I'm going to concentrate on mainly track time.

I've just noticed this part of the forum after posting a 'any fellow bikers on here?' thread...

Down the years I've owned and crashed all sorts. I used to be into the big Jap stuff but i find them all the same...Over the years I've gravitated to Ducati..these are my babies:

    Ducati 1098S Tricolore:

    Ducati 916SP:

I mentioned in a previous post that Ducati had a reputation for being fragile and unreliable but in my experience and from knowing fellow owners that's just all cobblers...

Had motocross bikes as a kid, but decided to wait till I was 24 (last April) to do my direct access, against all advice and hate I went straight for a K8 GSXR1000 and absolutely love it.

My old man has a decent collection of bikes ranging from old BSA's (A65 & A10) to a custom triton café racer, Suzuki kettles, a Harley and a range of triumphs.

I've been away from bikes for a few years now but I'm tempted to come back, my NCB will run out early next year so not long to go if I want to keep them.

But, I'm only coming back with either a K5 or newer thou, S1000rr or a bike that's caught my eye at Ducati Glasgow......Aprilia RSVR :)

If you have to ride through London, bear in mind the ULEZ rules affect motorcycles too.
I won't be able to ride my 06 CBR without paying once the new rules come into play.

I toured most of Europe on my trusty 06 blade, aswell as using it for the work commute and motorway blasts from the midlands to London.

Hi all. Biker over here too

I've been through a few like most on here. My first being an absolute tank of a Yamaha DT50 (D reg!!) at the age of 16 as I was desperate to get on the road as soon as I could. Blew it up a fair few times and decided I needed a proper bike so did my test as soon as I could and got a ZX6R from the local Kwaka dealer (still best mates with the salesman I bought it from 18 years later!)

I then moved through a few different sports bikes like a fireblade, RSV-R, slingshot GSXR750, Hayabusa then thought I'd try something different so bought a new BMW F800-GS which was wicked on the country lanes! Then went to a Street triple RX (the one with the Daytona back end) which was a very decent bike too for the money.

I've now settled with my almost mint GSXR 750 srad and had it for the last two years. I absolutely love it. Only 18k on the clock and runs perfectly. And a bit of a wheelie machine too.

“Apologies for the pic heavy post”

Been back on a bike for a few months now after a 3 year absence. Always wanted the S1000RR and thought “fook it”....

I absolutely love this bike, leagues ahead of my previous bikes in term of performance and looks, not just power but brakes as well. I haven’t been out much of late due to work but I try as much as I can.

Bike at work getting washed, chain degreased and lubricated for the next outing.

After 8 years of enjoyment, I sold my K7 1000 back in Feb. Bought this as a replacement. Absolutely loving it so far.

Congrats, Previoisly owned a HP4 Carbon a few years ago.

How does it compare to the GSXR1000 K7 as the S1000RR was developed and based on the GSXR1000 K6.

I'm finding that they're pretty similar really. The K7 was far from standard, so perhaps not a fair comparison, however, I've discovered the following.

The electronics on the BMW are annoying quite a lot of the time. I ran it in Race mode to start with, but after about 100 miles switched to Slick mode all the time and have it set at -5. Seems alright at that.

The Suzuki had more grunt below 8k than the BMW. The BMW has more top end. Might have to visit Hilltop in Hinkley and get their map on it. Will fill the midrange nicely.

The BMW feels very planted and solid on the road. More than the K7, despite the K7 having Ohlins front and rear. Having ridden them side by side, there's not a lot in it overall. I sold the K7 to a friend of mine and we've been out a few times together since. Still prefer the look of my old K7.

Do I prefer the BMW? Maybe. I've not had it long enough to fully qualify that one. I've done almost 2000 miles on it, but still feel that I'm learning every time. It's a confidence inspiring bit of kit, that's for sure.

I’ve had a few bikes over the years and have an S1000RR also. It’s a brilliant bike

Unfortunately, with a family I now do far less miles than I would like

I went to the TT this year and it was awesome
