At first installation they recommend the car to be on charge.
I only have a normal charger not for li-on battery.
    Should I bother?
Anybody had any experience with power loss during first installation?

I don't think anyone on here is using MHD mate.

If it's the same process as bootmod, then as long as you have been for a drive to charge battery then you "should" be fine without a charger.

At the moment to use it on your phone you need a wi-fi dongle.

But they are working on an update so you can just plug the ethernet cable (via an adaptor) into your phone.

When I first mapped mine with bm3 didn’t use a charger just a 10 min drive before then mapped stage 1 and GTS gearbox massive difference so much more driveable wish I done it sooner (non comp 65 plate )

I use MHD think its spot on, used it on my 135i n55 so when I got the m3 just carried on with what I knew. With the wifi adapter map changes take 20 seconds they also have an app for apple and android now.
Stage 1 on mine made 525hp on a reliable dyno that I used to have my old track focus RS running syvecs ECU mapped.
I've never used bm3 but from what I can gather MHD and bm3 are pretty much the same, stage 1/2 pretty much the same.
If I had the choice again I'd probably go ecutek theres a few companies in the uk offering it now Litchfield being one of them

So can you do it with a cable from your Android phone or do you need the wifi adaptor? Is there a dealer for MHD in the UK?

No you can use a cable map changes will take 2/3 minutes though, wifi adapter is faster. You can use iPhone as well now.
You don't need a dealer you just download the app and buy the flasher module and maps from the license store on the app

Yeah gts and cs maps and gts gear box map comes with the flasher module, I got the flasher module and stage 1 map about 18 months ago on a black Friday deal so was cheaper anyway the maps are £85 not sure what the flasher module is it was so long ago maybe £230 if you download the app it will tell you.
On there website they do a super licence now which is flasher module, all map packs and the monitor module for €449
