I’m quite taken with an M6GC at the moment. Seems to be about £40k for a 2015 ish car.

Anyone have any experience of ownership, or opinions in general? Any options a ‘must’ or anything to skip? I was tempted by B&O but it’s hard to find and I believe the HK is very good anyway.

I’m just gonna pretend it’ll fit in the garage and claim to be surprised to the mrs, when it doesn’t.

I have looked at these on and off for a couple of years now. Prices seem to be all over the place. I get a feeling they will drop a bit now as they are already starting to do so and the higher price ones are just sitting around.

Spec wise I dont think anything is a must, it comes very well equiped as it is.

B&O would be nice but like you said its very rare.

I would get adaptive LED and surround view, especially the latter as the GC is a LARGE car with less than perfect visibility.

99% sure adaptive LED headlights are standard on the M6GC since release.
Surround view is a nice to have but I wouldnt say its a must

Ahahaha it is a big car but i love it also its quite rare for a bmw you don’t see as many around as you do other m models so it has a sense of exclusivity I guess also that means it comes with a lot of attention to
I think the interiror is an absolutely beautiful place to be as well
I too wanted B&O but had to settle for harmon kardon as the one I got had a lot more to offer such as
    White (my preferred colour)
    Comfort seats
    Heated steering wheel
    Rear heated seats
    Surround view
    Soft close doors

Thanks guys. Still deep in thought. I agree though, I have surround view on my navara (I still hit something, doh) it’s got to be high up the list, not quite a must have though.

Had a coupe for 8 months. Lovely machine. Insanely fast but not chuckable around B roads at all and very heavy. Loaded with kit as standard - adaptive LED, reversing camera, HUD, Harmon Karmon all standard.

Extremely thirsty - I was averaging 16mph for my daily commute. Turned heads everywhere.

I also got a coupe. CCB, CP, B&O etc. Can't really think of anything to replace it with without spending another £20-25k on top.

I think this is probably going to be the longest I've kept a car.

Im sure in the earlier days when I was doing my usual car porn research apparently the M6GC handled/felt better than the M6 coupe.

They are a great car and as has been said, they are big. Harmon Kardon sound system is great. Had it in my last 3 cars and can't fault it. My new F10 M5 has B&O but I would struggle to justify having paid £2k as an upgrade for it. Surround view would be helpful as you have a long bonnet from where you sit to sticking your nose out at junctions. Soft close doors are nice feature but again not necessary.
    Enjoy the shopping.

Looking at these myself. Not the GC though, the coupe. At the moment my E46 M3 is doing 12-20mpg. But I am hammering it everywhere with the weather we have at the moment so mpg isn't a factor. Moonstone mentioned that it isn't a B road type of car. With my limited mileage it would probably need 6mnth oil changes which I have done with my E46 the past couple years as well.

I do think that they are a lot rarer and look the absolute part alongside with them having the potential to be extremely tuneable for not a lot of money.

They are holding their money in comparison to the M5, M3 & M4's.
