If BMW do your MOT and you have used more than 0.01mm of tread, expect an advisory :muttley::muttley::muttley:

Ok.... Just got back from BMW in Stevenage, the brake fluid service was carried out today. They said it would take up to 90mins and I left exactly 90mins after arriving.

I spoke to the guy who took payment and handed back my keys/documents etc and he went through a few things with me on the service sheet. They had carried out a mini 'inspection' I guess, and I was told that all tyres and brake pads etc were fine. 50% wear on front pads and 30% wear on the rears. Rear tyres have 4.5mm of tread left, fronts have 5.5.... He then said 'There's plenty of life in them yet' so no sales pitch for new tyres etc which was nice!

He then complimented the car and said it looked great, although he did ask how I get away with no front number plate... but also agreed that it did look better without one :muttley:

All in all, I am happy with the service received. Although I did fail to check the amount when paying (we were too busy chatting about tyres and track days lol), so it was £93 in the end.... Only noticed when I got home.

Just the MOT now, but it's nice to know that tyres/brakes won't be an issue!!

I know.... Massive oversight on my part! I was needing to get back to work and I just didn't check.

They also asked me if I wanted to wait a little longer for a free car wash.... But I turned down the offer of free swirl marks :muttley:

That's reassuring as I need to book my RIS with them in 800 miles' time. I can drop it off and jump on the train to London if needs be.

I had my C63 service and MOT at Mercedes Stevenage last year, there was no up-sell which was a surprise. I was also happy to get a call a couple of weeks later inviting me to an AMG event to drive all their cars. I wonder if BMW looks after their M customers as well?

    I received nothing lol.

I think only the CS owners got a track day/event when buying brand new.

Yea, it was all really good in the end. Pleasantly surprised! They have a good viewing section for MOT's too.... Still in two minds as to whether to take it to them or not.... My car has been coded and had the GTS software updated by ZedCoding... Will this get flagged up and reset during an MOT with BMW...?

    I'd still love an AMG...

No they won't mess with the coding or know about the Gearbox software on an MOT.
