Hello, i've got myself my second ever m3 after missing my last one so much!

This time its an SMG, im after advice on the csl smg remap as im not too fond of this smg stuff so far

The rev match stuff on the ecuworx tool is that all thats required and also whats this inertia stuff? Do i also need the 255 software thing ive read if so where do i get the files to be able to do this?

Lastly (for now :p) how do i get this m track mode stuff enabled for the traction control?

Im based in maidenhead near heathrow if anyone local enough is able to help with coding all this?

Sounds like its similar too the dtc stuff on my last 335i! One tap lets you slip a lil and holding the button turns it off completely.

Anywhoooo its a carbon black vert smg 2003 for those interested lol

    Thanks

Thanks your the man! Cant wait to give it a shot when i get home from work,

My car suffers pretty bad with an exagerated m clunk when shifting without lifting off lifting off seems to help it

Do you think the smg inertia fix thing will make this worse? Or will it be fine while as long as i lift off? (Going in for poly diff and subframe bushings etc very soon as the diff bushes have play exagerating the clunk im told)

    Whats the milage on it?

Mine started doing the when shifting and if i lifted off was helping, changed both inner cv joints and that has cured it. Have a look at yours, mine had rotating play on the inner ones which caused the clunk.

I might need to look into that, how do i check the cv joints to see if they need replacing?

Mine has 104k so fairly high mileage tbh but full service history etc

    I bought a high mileage example 220k
Kms and was very clunky during shifting. If I let off accelerator during shifting Id be able to make it smooth but otherwise very clunky. Also in Auto mode was very laggy.

friend used some software to reset the SMG for me. whatever that procedure is called. And it made it shift 80% better. Much less lag during auto mode and even keeping foot on accelerator was much better than before.

I didn't like the SMG initially, but I find you have to drive it like a manual without a clutch pedal... You wouldn't try and change gear in a traditional manual without letting off a little, SMG is no different.

Mine had rev match when I bought it which was ok, but @M3CARBON1 added the rest of the SMG upgrade software when he remapped my car last week and now it's spot on.

I let off ever so slightly and the gear change is rapid, haven't tried the full power setting 5 changes yet but on 3 it's ideal for daily driving.. massively converted to the SMG, great piece of kit!!!

    Hi there!

i was following the manual on how to enable m track mode, because I haven’t got the led on dash, I went on with the instructions from last page, I do get to the 2 op, I click “process ecu” and that’s as far as it goes no drop down menu where I could select mk60 module.

    stuck, can anyone help?

You'll already have the MK60 selected, pressing process ecu just executes whatever action you have set.

Need to do this, mine also have rev matching but not the 255. I've just rebuilt all of the back end and replaced the inner CV's with Hack Engineering ones and all new bushes so hoping for it to be a bit sharper but sounds like the 255 software will sort it out.
