Simple question are we allowed to go for a leisurely drive during lockdown?

I don't see why we couldn't as long as there is zero interaction between anyone else and with most cars of the road would be a great time to enjoy some twisties.

    Thoughts?

I read on the news: a "yes, police are unlikely to pull you over," from Michael Gove, on the government Q and A ; responding to something along the lines "can I go for a drive blow off the cobwebs?"

I've done this, although I have avoided tourist hot spots which have been dangerously oversubscribed.

    I mean you could.

Or you could just do as instructed and stay inside. It’s not exactly a a big thing they’re asking. Just stay inside and watch tv for a few weeks.

too many people trying to find excuses to bend the rules.

I’m trying not to, just incase I breakdown, have an accident, just be a burden on other services.
Cleaned the car three times in a week :)

Not picking on you on purpose, but everyone needs to give their head a wobble. Unless for essential travel, you stay in - end of.

We all drive fooking M cars - quick M cars. Bang into some innocent cu^t and there's no resources to get said cu^ts to an emergency room. You can die, as you acted like a twerp.

Too many think they're a fooking revolutionist - go wave yer willies in private. You want help from the government to pay your wages and bills on one thread, but ignore a simple instruction. Criers. Wake up.

If you are not a key worker:

You can go to the shops (not every fooking day, 8 times a day).

You can go for medical attention (not for a wart on your cock).

You can exercise once a day (not three a breast on your carbon framed Boardman on the M1).

You can actually volunteer to assist distribution of supplies (but you would rather watch Countdown).

You can end the thread (but the mods are out doing one of the above :D).

Well I would say that as they have said only to go out for 1 of 4 reasons then the correct answer would be no, you are not allowed to go for a drive (even if you are on your own).

Today I had to take the Mrs to a medical appointment (1 of the few that haven't been cancelled) and yes I did have to take her, as she can't drive.

So I took a gamble and instead of using the daily runabout, I took the M4 instead.

The gamble paid off, as there were only 3 other cars in the car park and when we got there, I was told that I had to wait outside.
