    What're you driving?:
E92 M3, gone but not forgotten
Now the testing embargo has lifted last night, what do people think of the new Land Rover Defender?

CarWow, MrJWW, Top Gear and Carfection all have videos out now. The Carfection video in particular is fantastic.

I absolutely love it and will look to get into a second hand 90 in 2-3yrs I reckon.

I think it looks great, I think they’ve done a great job of putting a modern swerve on the classic design.

From the videos I’ve watched as well as having a good look around the LR website, I think the tech looks great too.

I’ll also be looking to get one in the next two or three years.

Was behind one very recently that was out on a test run - it had prototype vehicle sticker on back window. Initially I had a WFT is that moment, personally I thought it looked "jeep like" and not very good actually.

Theres only one type of buyer in Birmingham for G wagons. They usually address people in a manner such as "yo bruv" and live in a 3 bed semi in handsworth (shithole) with several of their siblings, all of whom pay a portion towards said g wagon. :muttley:

A lot of money for a Defender.

I have an old 90 which is a bag of shite but for some reason I take it out more to drive than any other car. Despite the rust, noise, smoke and slowness it has more character and gives you more of a smile than any other car I have driven including my current E93 m3 and e46 m3.

I personally love the design and everything about it.....except the price tag.

The P400 in ‘Namibia spec’ as used by PistonHeads is £90k. It’s exactly the one I’d want, but exactly the one I’d never be able to afford.

But I’d take this over a G Wagen, because as good as those are.....there’s more than a whiff of drug dealer/footballer about them.

Even if you must buy a Land Rover it would be a Range Rover at that price point.

My 2c, yes they are both SUVs, but at two very different ends of the usage spectrum.

The G63 is a mighty impressive luxury wagon, but no way I was gonna put my dogs in the back and have them spoiling the quilted leather trim. I never really bonded with my one, truth be told (G not dogs :p ).

Not if we're talking new, as they're £61k for a tidy spec First Edition Defender 110/240. Has the latest single screen infotainment, with reviews being a little sour on the last generation.

Well, being a little short of vehicles and more than a little bored, I happened to call my local dealer.

By chance, they had an unsold 110 240d in exactly the spec I wanted - Pangea Green, Acorn leather, First Edition (essentially an HSE), with Country Pack.

    Just like this:

Built, with an ETA as soon as things start moving again.

Will be perfect for the Dobi's. Full height cargo separation and even a nice little shower to rinse their paws.

....just couldn't see myself hosing out the back of a G63 :muttley:
