So all i would need are the mirrors and the drivers side adjuster with the switch??
Yes mate that’s all I used,
The mirrors and the switch.
That’s all you need bud
Hi guys hope your all good.
I haven’t updated for a while, but wanted to share this, we had a great day Saturday with a few more cutters, this meet was set up at snetterton.
Here’s some pictures, I do hope you guys that came don’t mind me sharing these.
It was a brilliant day Thankyou, can’t wait to do it again in June.
Hope you’ve had a good weekend.
I’ve been out this afternoon to meet fellow cutter warrenj1uk.
We managed to get a licence for my car and done the SMG rev matching and inertia updates.
This is my second e46 m3 and why oh why did we wait this long to do it, She now drives a lot more with the times and yes the difference is as they describe “night and day”
At this point i became very unhelpful with things as I’m useless at the techy stuff but warren your the man and thanks so much for your help.
After complete and packed away we chose to take a 30 min drive out through some lovely B roads.
All the best
Just realised you’ve got a build thread. It’s good to see the detail you have gone into. Good to see you included the RS4 in the M3 photos
Glad you have got the CSL software, rev match and inertia update now. I told you it makes the smg box so much better.
Thanks Frazer it was great to meet you again Saturday at the gathering we had up snetterton, Thanks for coming along.
Your Audi is a beast!
Yes you were 100pecent correct on telling me to do the updates! Glad I listened to yourself and warren.
All the best
Finally got round to changing those old original oem exhaust mounts today with a bit of help from a friend.
On his ramp we managed to remove the tired sagginng ones without damaging the threads which I was worried about.
I’ve set up a thread on here in the e46 section questioning how exhausts should sit, as even after replacing all 3 with new rubbers new brackets and new nuts mine still doesn’t seem to sit correct.
It’s certainly helped but I’m still not happy as yet with it, so she will have to go back in the air.
As you can see in the picture below sadly it’s still hanging way too low.
Any ideas guys? it’s been suggested taking off the the back box again to try and re align? Will have to get it back in the air for another look.
I don't think you have any other option, unless you have the option to fit shorter rubbers at the back to bring it up.
On the whole very envious of all the love your car has gotten! It's fantastic to see new BMW parts bags and cars in the bodyshop getting resprayed. Not feeling the Clubsport spoiler too much but doesn't take away from the work. Hopefully I'll get to some meets later in the year and see this in the metal.
Hope your well my friend, thanks so much for the great msg, very kind indeed.
Totally understand your input regards the spoiler, it’s a topic of conversation in my house also at the min, we’ll see what the future holds, beautiful thing with these cars is they are very adaptable and interchangeable with mods.
I’ve been looking through your thread also funny enough, absolutely great work there mate!!
Love to have you come down to a meet or we can arrange one closer to you, let me know. Get these beauty’s together for some pictures.
All the best
Had a busy day today on the M3.
Spent all day tinkering with my new gadget, rear blind).
It took me a good while stripping down the interior and getting the prep correct.
Many many thanks to fellow cutter oasis, a true gent who as helped no end with his vast knowledge on these cars.
At first I decided to paint the blind satin black to get rid of the horrible light blue sun bleached colour.
Secondly the wiring was put together, just over 6 meters of white and yellow 0.75 gauge were used, original Bmw colours. This was wrapped in Ellectric tape and placed correctly along the passenger side of the car under the carpet and up behind the glovebox.
Excuse the poor pictures, these were taken while I was I rushing around inbetween the weather changes we had today.
I’m a sucker for a great spec vehicle so we’re pleased with this mod. Even if we are feeling very tired lol.
All the best
No problem buddy, always happy to offer any help or advice to a fellow enthusiast! Though you’ve done all the hard work, so congrats on achieving the full spec switch panel - looking good, and I hope you get some use out of the blind this summer!!
Looks good and hopefully worth the effort.
Oasis, your a superstar I owe you 100 favours for your patience with me, Guys if you haven’t met Owais yet please take my word for it this chap is a machine of advice and info, shares his experiences with no expense and took two phone calls from me yesterday when I was puzzled and still guided me blind throughout. I Promise I’ll stop saying thanks now but i do mean it bud. I’m Looking forward to seeing you and that lovely M next month at our meet.
Frazer, Hey big man I hope your good and well! Thanks for the kind comments..
In one hand, with Money and time/effort the job is questionable as to whether it’s worth it or not, to an non enthusiast looking in, such as the wife) lol. I can certainly see why someone wouldn’t understand the need.
On the other, as said before I’m a complete push over for a great spec’d vehicle, I could spend all day happily working on my cars doing random bits unnecessarily so it wasn’t really a chore.
My brother (who you’ve met) came over and took one look in the car all stripped down and said “bro your mad, you’ve finally lost it” which made me chuckle..
The heavens opened atleast 3 times so I was in and out of the garage all day but I had to remind myself it’s a hobby that I should enjoy and if i got stressed out perhaps I should give up on cars.
(That will never happen).
All the best guys!
I know exactly what you mean, my other half says the same to me. It’s all about the little details. I was out at my car all day yesterday and never achieved anything. I’m contemplating doing a few other things but just contemplating wether it’s worth the effort.
The next part was to install some rear seats I bought off cutters a couple weeks ago by a guy called Darren, also known as Mpower7
Awesome guy very honest seller and overall top man, (also works at Bmw).
I’ve been looking to do this as I think it’s a great little mod, very simple but looks the part, Took all of about 15 minutes to achieve.
(The third rear head rest).
All installed, I cleaned and used leather conditioner whilst they’ve been sat in the garage this week. I’m not worried about the belt, the original lap belt will never be used and suits my needs perfectly.
The rear blind and third rear headrest are only minor changes but really makes the interior feel updated.
Hope you’ve had a lovely long weekend.
Looking good mate
Looking good buddy..... yep, the rear centre headrest is another nice little touch
Stunning! Love your work and your attention to do the best by the car.
PY is so so special being the launch colour of the E46 M3 and your doing it proud Lambert!
Looking forward to your next set of mods
Thanks so much for the kind comments.
I really can’t wait to see yours, the work you have put into that M3 is amazing,
So when are you guys having another meet you’re end?
I’ll pencil that one in the diary for sure.
All the best
