There are four larger connectors in the dme wiring box, undo the first one towards the front of engine bay and work backwards.
x6002 is the wiring block of the four nearest the bulkhead and pins 8 and 9 should be empty so plug in two wires to them part no 2x 61130005197 - £1.92 each.
x6003 is the next one next and is the largest of the block connectors, you will need 1 x wire 61130005197 and follow the wiring in the list and all is done, one of the pins will be empty so use this wire for that and solder the others to appropriate wires.

Additional Items to be soldered onto the engine DME circuit board to allow the CSL Control Unit flap to work

Please not the pricing for the BMW parts above may vary slightly depending on the discount you get.

A huge thanks to Ultimate3 who helped me out a great deal by sending me some of the part numbers / ebay items to help put this sticky together. :

    Few questions:

    1. Csl map sensor, plug/housing, wires required, position of location?
    2. Csl iat sensor plug/housing, wires required part numbers?
    3. You mentioned this below wiring configuration but where are we wiring the other sides of the wires? I mean which sensors motors etc?

(There are four larger connectors in the dme wiring box, undo the first one towards the front of engine bay and work backwards.
x6002 is the wiring block of the four nearest the bulkhead and pins 8 and 9 should be empty so plug in two wires to them part no 2x 61130005197 - £1.92 each.
x6003 is the next one next and is the largest of the block connectors, you will need 1 x wire 61130005197 and follow the wiring in the list and all is done, one of the pins will be empty so use this wire for that and solder the others to appropriate wires.)

I bought 12x clamps pn.07129952125 They fit adequately on both sides of the boot.

not worth bothering with imho I've just ordered first part 9 that connects to the secondary airfeed on the airbox. Not bothering with the other parts as a simple bit of cheap intake tube can do the same job when connected to part 9 and cable tied to the bottom of the bumper.

These are the bits your on about.

It goes here and replaces the std one and is needed to fit the csl airbox. Think the old one can be messed about with to fit but if you want to go back to std in the future you would want to keep the original one as it is.

Blimey. How is that end bit connected to the bumper ? I don't see any zip cords, just a bit of tape.

It's a lot of weight this csl box.

I believe their is a screw hole in the CSL bumper so it holds it firmly in place with a screw. I think the tape maybe to fix a rip or hole in the pipe. lol.

Part 9 (11617833646) is all you need for the secondary airfeed from the airbox which I will then connect the following to or something cheaper when I spend more time searching. This is only of relevance to me and anyone running the control unit with flap really otherwise if I had just a snorkel I would not be bothering with this second cold air feed and would just blank the hole off.

See that bit of tape to the right, ignore that, keep moving up and all you need is a cable tie. My Csl one is held on by a cable tie only. I think I wrapped mine around the other solid tube. That is the correct position in the picture, just facing down.

Then that pipe wraps around as the picture. Attach that first and the only way to get the solid pipe is to slide the bumper on in place, you could b and q it but I'm going to get the real part when I fit it on the m3.

It's fiddly, took me about 30min first time round with passenger jacked up.

I am fitting just part 9 to my secondary air feed hole on the airbox and i am going to buy some flexi pipe to connect to part 9 instead of using part 10 the second piece of plastic and that expensive part 21 (bmw's flexi hose).

I am using the std bumper so will cable tie the flexi pipe somewhere at the bottom of the engine and the main cold air feed coming off the control unit i will have to tweak to fit in the brake duct due to not using the csl bumper.

To all in the know, what do you need to do if your car is earlier than 2003? Purchase a new/2nd hand ECU? To be able to run CSL map?
