    The reason you see so many badly modified cars, crap reg plates mis-spaced and people who work at Big Johns serving take aways but pay their entire monthly wage on an Audi A7 with fake RS6 badges.

    Its all the fault of rap music and the radio.

    All they do is tell everyone how rich they are, talk about their whips etc. etc.

    Then the idiots follow suit thinking that they have twenty trillion like Jay Z.

    Jay Z doesn't live on James Turner Street in Brum lads :muttley:

    Not sure either Jay-Z or the term "Gangster Rap" have been culturally relevant in about 20 years... but I get the point you're trying to make.

    Hi Stu,

    Unfortunately, you're wrong! Many decades before 'rap music' guys were modifying their cars for better performance and styling and goes back to.. 1929 when cars would have their 'fenders' removed entirely or replaced with lighter cycle ones.

    Things over the years changed and varied and whilst there may be a correlation between listening to Gangster Rap and badly modified cars, it's not just that. I've seen PLENTY of owners who definitely don't listen to Gangster Rap or even Western Music for that matter and still have what is considered laughable modifications !

    Here's an example;

    [IMG]

    Over in LA, I saw this car pull up just as I was getting out of my 'spot a rental car a mile off' Chevrolet Impala and they looked like they'd stepped off the set of Boyz N the Hood!
    Turns out they were great guys once they overheard me talking and buying a PAYG sim card - they wanted to know all about the UK!

    [IMG]

    I don't think 99% of the UK 'guys' who go around thinking they're badass would last 20 seconds out in LA with that attitude and any I also don't think anyone saying they've said a badly modified car is due to 'Rap Music' would last much longer either ! ;)

    I was about 20 minutes or so away from;

    [IMG]

    I thought about driving off the junction, having a little drive around and getting back on the Highway again.. needless to say when I got to the junction, I kept the steering wheel straight !

    Cheers, Dennis!

    I am very bitter to be fair. I wish I had twelve family members to move into a 4 bed terraced house with just so I could buy a C200d and badge it up as an AMG. Would make me so happy that all my neighbours knew I had a Merc. Oh wait!? :muttley:

    Seeing a lot of these types of gripe posts from you Stu, I'd suggest you need to move out of Birmingham, fast. No doubt you will get gangster rap A3 TDI's with RS3 badges anywhere in the country but it does seem to be rife in the midlands for it.

    Think you guys are confusing the UK Drill scene with HipHop & Rap music. You can't compare a Stormzy, Dave or any of these UK Grime guys to someone like Jay Z ( arguably the G.O.A.T!)

    Birmingham is starting to grate on me. I have a low tolerance for it’s people and how entitled and rude they are. I could elaborate but Fook me get that chip of ya shoulder is what I want to say!

    Yes me too! Just not in ****boxes with fake badges on. In Birmingham every single Mercedes is an AMG except it isn’t.

    Isn't this because Mercedes now have the 'AMG line' thing (similar to M sport /performance), which means even these AMG trim level cars come with the badge at the back?
