just been reading through these posts and noticed if the car is made from the 1st of september 08 it will have the newer cic as apposed to the ccc.
can any1 confirm this is true i bought my car the day before i came back to work and never got to have a great look into what i have my car was registered 1/9/08 on a 58 plate. will i have the ccc or the cic
any help greatly appreciated thanks
Its about build date rather than registration date...so its impossible to be sure. but yes 2009 model years (built late August/Sept 2008 onwards) have CiC.
If you have the Vin number (last 7 digits) then its possible to check the build date.
My old M3 was built 30 sept 2008 and was CiC.
So ware would i check the vin number to see if it was is there any tell tale signs in the cockpit that would indicate its a cic car? Regards chris

I can confirm it was 01/09/2008 when the later I-drive was installed. My chassis number is PY38093 and build date is 01/09/2008. I have the later I-Drive. If you put chassis number PY38092 in the vin checker it comes up with the earlier I-Drive. Looks like mine was the first one off the production line with the new system
Having dipped in and out, can anyone confirm if current thinking is that Options make any difference if you’re trading in at a BMW dealership?
My experience with other Marques is no. The Salesman may be more eager, but CAP is the bible and appears to be entirely Age:Mileage:Condition - based regardless of spec.
Obviously, if you’re buying from said BMW dealership, spec is everything.
competition pack probably makes a difference to trade price
My tip: Avoid diesel. Especially when it's on the road surface...
Guys, is there a distinctive face lift introduction of the e92 and when did it come out? Did that sort out all the big problems like the throttle actuators and the connecting rod bearings? What else was taken care of or improved?
The rod bearings haven't become a 'big problem' until the internet turned it into one not long ago...
BMW never seemed to think it was an issue and neither does anyone with a bit of common sense
I can't call the throttle actuators that much of a big problem either, you can get them fixed/replaced for a lot less than what BMW quotes for it these days so I really wouldn't worry about them.
Any good updates on this thread ? Looking for a late, low miles comp pack. Maybe LE500. Red or sent blue.
