BMW quote the same part number whether a 316i with halogen lights, or an m3 with Xenons.
If you think that’s steep, bmw quoted me £300 for a pair of E36 corner splitters. Basically two bits of plastic. Joke
Don’t ask for a price on the gutter trim/rear side window rubber...
Replacing exterior trims is adding up big time but needed to compliment the paint.
Looking into the group buy and logistics of it all today. Will be able to post up details once I know more.
magnetti marelli make lights/lens' and many other parts for loads of car manufacturers.
The facelift rear lights I fitted to my Audi S3 were magnetti marelli, had them for £100 less because I got them from eurowagens not audi and they didn't have a little audi emblem on the backs (which you can't see when fitted anyway!)
Have you tried treating rubber parts with gummi pflege? works wonders, usually the first thing I do on my cars when I buy them... go around all the rubber seals and trims with it, really brings it back to life.
If your referring to the trim pieces that are chrome on non-m sport cars that can be made like new by a skilled detailer with the right kit... cheaper than the obscene amounts bmw quote for new parts!!!!! Is it called shadowline trim??
Mine have perished and split on the pax side, too far gone for gummi pflege I’m afraid.
That’s good stuff btw. I’ve used it a lot over the years. And yes it’s known as shadow line.
I am waiting on a reply from Marelli for a time scale for delivery. Expecting a reply tomorrow as they can be quite slow replying.
Assuming there is no issue with availability then cost will be £110 delivered.
Try C3BMW, brilliant customer service and their pricing has saved me quite a bit over the years.
Marelli aren’t planning to make more of these and apparently have very little stock. I can get 7 sets atm but I am trying all of my contacts to see if there are more available.
If I can get 7 people who want them I will order them. When adding names please PM to arrange payment. Please remember I have supplied most of the forum with these, work in the trade and have a very good reputation so you can buy with confidence.
Please add names below so I can keep track of everything (if needs be I can create a separate thread to keep mods happy)...
So what does that mean in practice? BMW have switched to another OEM supplier?
It means you have a chance to buy some OEM headlight lenses from a trusted seller at a discounted price.
£38 per side from C3BMW, plus £6 post. Can you beat that price in your group buy?
it states "from" £38 and the the saloon/touring is £62 - just check they send OEM
I've just been through the order process, £81.95 delivered for Marelli Coupe/Vert lenses.
Before I place the order I'm going to try polishing them tomorrow with a DA and compound.
I wish I had stocked up when GSF were doing Bosch ones for £22!!!!
Not much point tbh. I would check availability before ordering with them though. If they don’t hold them in stock then I can’t imagine they would still do the price as I know how much they cost and if they try and order direct then they can’t atm.
Are these group buy ones for xenon or halogen lights?
