    Hello there,

I need to mount my harnesses (4 point) and need to know where is best to mount the hip belt eye bolts. Any obvious locations (I'd ideally keep the inertia reel belt in too as it's only for the occasional track day..)

    Thankings,

    Chris

45 degree angle from the holes in the seat to the transmission tunnel and the sill.

Picture from a Schirmer E92 (ignore the broken glass), you can see the eyelet on the tunnel, there’s obviously one directly opposite on the sill.

    Thanks,

Re the one on the sill, would that not be into a hollow section, i.e. how would you put a nut / plate on the back? I've not looked at mine yet as it always seems to be dark when I go out to it :D

On an E92 you can get to the other side after removing the flat floor covers under the car. I’m not sure about the E46 though.

Are you using a VAC motorsport or similar billet style floor adapter set up? If so, you can just screw a M8 harness eye bolt into one of the rear holes! So easy and tidy... I can share some photos with you this weekend if needs..

This is how mine was, but it's not the ideal solution a for a few reasons.

This issue is coming my way soon. Whats the potential problem with the VAC mount location for the eyebolt? Also, are there threaded holes under the rear seat for shoulder belts? Ibe not had the seat out yet..

I bolted mine to the seat frame so retain the use of the oem and use the 5 point when needed
