A friend of mine is having his bc racing coilovers removed and a set of H&R 29355-1 installed.

The garage has asked him what top mounts are required for the H&R's as his BC's had adjustable camber top mounts.

I don't know much about this so can anyone tell me if he needs to buy a new set of oem top mounts or which camber adjustable top mounts would fit the H&R's?

    Thanks

Do they use regular straight springs or conical springs which use the standard upper spring cup?

If they're normal single diameter springs then I'd try the mounts off his old ones. As long as the shafts are the same diameter they will work fine. If not, he might need a reducer or modify the ones the old setup used to get them to sit nicely through the centre bearing.

If they have the conical springs which need the oe spring cup then he'll have to use either standard mounts or mounts specifically designed to work on oe dampers due to the way part of the mount has to sit inside the cup.

If he doesnt need full camber adjustability ie going over 2 degrees I would stick with OEM top mounts. It will make alignment a lot easier.

I am no expert but it is a road setup and looked a lot like yours. Are you over 2 degrees?

I just had a quick google and the springs are cone shaped (small at bottom and lager at the top) I assume these are conical springs so he will need standard top mounts.

No although I got adjustable top mounts mine are set to OEM spec. Think they were set to -1.5deg which is within the normal range when I done my alignment with Wheel power a few weeks ago.

Ok thanks chaps. Think he is going to go with a standard top mount pending price from Cotswold.
