I was Furloughed on the 24th March for 12 weeks- went back to work last week and have been refurloughed from tomorrow 30th June- I’ve been told that before the 1st July when the new part time Furloughed period starts I have to be furloughed again for a minimum 3 weeks again as it’s before the 1st July

    Is that true?

Ive read an article from a Law Firm saying I do?!

You have to have been on at least three weeks of furlough at anytime before the 30th June, which you have been.

Yes what I’m on about is if you are furloughed officially BEFORE the 1st July (I’ve already qualified I know that!) but I’ve been re-furloughed again before the Mk2 scheme starts

You are qualified full stop. Therefore you can now be furloughed for just a day or half a day a week, whatever your boss sees as fit

If you were furloughed before 30th June for at least 3 weeks, you didnt need to be furloughed again to join the part-time scheme.

Ok- but I have been- it’s just clarification to know so as the statutory length of furlough is 3 weeks fixed before the 1st of July- it was said you are furloughed for a minimum of 3 weeks you can then be recalled back to work but if you are refurloughed it has to be for another 3 weeks - the 1st of July changes that- but I’ve been refurloughed on the 30th June (had to sign another letter through my work!)

Looks like it’s 3 weeks again.....

I’m due back to work tomorrow for first time since March! I’m going back on 4 day’s a week which is fine if it helps the business and they remember it when times are good. I’m yet to know what this looks like in reality though.

Does anyone know if I’m back on 4 days a week whether I’d be eligible to be furloughed for the 5th day and receive some income for it?

What !... do you want the government to wipe your arse as well. This furlough lark has been a right jolly, 80% wage meaning with no travel costs or daily work costs, equals full pay to sit sun bathing. We will all be paying indirectly for this for years to come.

Expect it’s not 80% is it? It’s capped.
My company have suspended commission so my pay is more than halved.

I’ve never claimed a single benefit for anything in my entire life but if I’m legally entitled to this why should I not get it?

I am confident having been contracted for 37.5 hours a week but usually working 60/70 they will fully expect me to still carry out the same work load despite being on 4 days (30 hours).

If you’ve got issues with government policy direct it at them.

    P.s wind your neck in.

You're correct Paul, to be furloughed now you would have to have been put on the current period of furlough by the 15th June. But they can put you on furlough tomorrow.

not asking for sympathy. I’ll be fine whether at work or not. I want an answer to a technical question regarding what I’m entitled to not a flawed morality lesson from a bellend

So as I’ve been furloughed again today (30th June) it’ll be 3 weeks again?

I think the upshot is. If your company have said they are placing you on furlough again to enable them to be eligible for “furlough mk2” they are misunderstanding the requirements as you are already eligible. Whether they make this new period of furlough 3 weeks or longer/less is therefore completely up to them so no one knows the answer.

We’ve been told from the 1st of July when our work is finished we go home

So if I go in at 7.30 and finish my work in 4hrs and there is nothing else I go home and the company will claim for the extra 3.5hrs of my shift and I get paid for my whole shift (I’m on a 20% paycut atm so wether I work or not it’s the same money!!)(I work 7.5hrs a day)

What I want to know is- as they have furloughed me on the 30th DO I HAVE TO BE FULLY FURLOUGHED FOR 3 WEEKS?!

companies won’t have a choice in this as it’s statuory to do it!

If I’m furloughed on the 1st of July onwards I fall into the more flexible system where the 3 week term is abolished

I had in mind from August the furlough scheme will be shared with the employer, so I would expect if you’re asked to come back 4 days and they’re paying you for it, then the one day will be paid for by govt.
essentially the govt wants people to go back to work ASAP but due to demand it will be a sort of part time work with the rest paid for by govt as a top up. best to check with your hr?

p.s astonished at that response you got but then again this is cutters :muttley:

no you don’t. Not legally at least.

but... if the company are basing their decision on a misunderstanding of the requirements you might be.

    hence no one knows.
