    Hi guys,

I am booked into Evolve for Stage 2 mapping next month, but have found that they can't map cars with Engine ECU software below 140e.

They say anything over 140e they can (as they upgrade it to 240e), but anything below they can't upgrade.

I have NCS and INPA but never used them, also have the silver cable from BM Cables.

Just wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction to identify what revision my engine ECU is running?

I have read that you can check the ISTA on the i-drive but that doesn't mean all modules are running that, I.e the engine ecu may not have been updated when other modules were?

    Thanks!

You can read the UIF using WinKFP.

Off the top of my head you would do the following:

    - Click the 'Update ZUSB' button
    - Select MSS60
    - Click the 'Special' button
    - Read UIF.

Post the results of the UIF here and i'll tell you your version.

DO NOT PRESS THE PROGRAM BUTTON THOUGH! If you do, you'll brick the ECU as the DCAN cables will not reliably update your ECU.

I will try and pull that data tonight and upload it!

Out of interest what year is your car? I've tuned loads of these and i've never seen anything earlier than 140E

    Its an 08 mate.

I don't know what its running sadly.

Only reason this came up is that I saw a member on an E9x FB group get sent home from Evolve as his 08 E90 was pre 140e apparently :(

You can modify the DCAN cable so that it will not brick the ecu (or buy 1 of the pre-modified ones from some company in the usa for an inflated price).

Yeah I saw that on another post but didn't really research it as it was off topic at the time lol.

@Martyn - I didn't have time to get my laptop working this weekend so nipped into the local dealer and had them do a print out of the key. It says my integration level is E89X-10-12-503. Am right in thinking that level is from December 2010, which is 190e?
