They certainly do. As they're no longer making the M3 I guess there will be an M4 35 Edition any minute now...

I've just realised that with the continuing 'special' editions that BMW bring out of the M models none are an actual 'keeper'. Was looking at the M5 then took out the M5 Competition (really close to a deal) now this version. And then it'll be Ohhh the new M3/4 is out. I used to keep my 'P's' for 4 or 5 years at a time. Owning an M BMW is a bit like having an iPhone. You always want the next one. Tempted to leave the brand.

Is it just me but I just dont really take to the M5.... couldn’t give a monkeys what edition it is ... it just doesn’t look special... considering the amount of money it costs!!!?.....

Sorry to any M5 owners just my opinion

Looks like you could make a 520d look like an M5 with some effort.

Historically, the M5 has always looked a bit understated for what it is. But looks are subjective, with a few M Performance mods it looks good enough to me. Some people want their car to shout loud 'look at me' whereas some people just want classy looks but performance of a supercar (pretty much). Think it's a car that does everything brilliantly.

Oh I agree there..... but surely thats not all your paying for.... is it?..... I don’t know it’s just a question.....

For me, you buy a Porsche turbo because it’s a Porsche turbo and as soon as you look at it you know what it . (it’s the flagship model right)... and you in turn pay a premium for that....

You wouldn’t pay that same premium for that engine and the rest of the gubbins if it were in a Carrera 4 shell..?...... or would you?

I dunno for me I think BMW missed a trick there..... similar to Audi and the new RS3.... which I why I didn’t replace mine after it got damaged.
With a bit of effort an s3 could look the same... and to be honest with hindsight I shouldn’t have payed the premium host for the engine.

    Aagain just my 2p’s worth
