    Hi All ,

Had the M4 comp a week all good , apart from lack of noise .
The car is a Nov 18 , after speaking to the parts department they were unsure as to whether it’s possible to fit a M performance exhaust due to emissions .Is a Nov 18 car not compatible due to emissions ?

Also been looking at Akrapovic and other exhausts , what do people do who have non Bmw performance exhausts do when it comes to warranty work , just take it of and put old one on ??

    Thanks

If you open the drivers door, check the build date on the plate. If it is Jul 18 or after then you have OPF and can probably only have a Cat back system as far as I am aware.

I would go with Akra my review is - clucks clacks bangs, whipping and wirling, growls, roars and mostly thunderclaps and machine guns into the air with a grenade to finish off the throttle. An orchestra of sounds controlled by the pilot. Plus it’s titanium 2x harder than stainless steel malarkey so you won’t get any cracks or damage unlike some systems :D

    No.

You can have an axle back system. The opf is after the cats.

The people who have gutted the opf fail to tell you that their warranty is void on the whole engine and transmission now and will never pass an MOT again. Gutting an OPF seems like a dumb move since you can't even reinstall it and put back to stock. So I'd love to see how they are going to resolve that before sale.

I'm guessing gutting the opf is more to do with being sly and hiding the fact it's been done which if landed on some unsuspecting buyer makes the whole situation a real cnts trick to pull.

    No it’s not.

Put an Akra rear silencer and a MPE rear silencer on the floor and left each of them. The Akra is featherlight because it’s made of titanium. The MPE is far heavier, probably twice. Definitely not titanium

According to BMW and the guy who fixed mine, it’s titanium , mid pipes aren’t though

Yep, 32% lighter than the standard system, unless BMW are a bunch of lying fookers.

Wouldn’t bother with an MPE. The Remus looks and sounds far better (and is more reliable/durable) for the same price. Akra for the win if you’re happy to splash the cash.

Agree on the Remus, but the Akrapovic just sounds like a broken exhaust to me, not a particularly nice tone

MPE titanium back box is as light as the Akra back box, sounds better as well.BM3 lets you delete the sh1tty halfords burbles as well.
